Other than your Warden (and i guess Hawke as well), I'm asking what kind of hero would you most like to play as in DA3, and how your Warden's (or Hawke's) choices or actions effected their backstory?

I myself would personally like to play as a ship captian of some like (ex-raider, merchant, transports, etc.) It could easily fit all classes and almost all races (seafaring dwarves are kinda iffy). The tie in for my Warden would be, that the Warden saved his/her life from the Children when the Warden decided to save Amaranthine. Ever since that day s/he has always felt like they owed the Warden a great deal.

I am also interested in hearing what kinda of companions everyone hopes for, and what companions you would hope return. Judging from Bioware's track record for DA, we might be getting one. DOA brought back Oghren (warrior), and DA2 brought back Anders (mage). So maybe we might be getting a rogue? It would be nice for Isabela or Varric to return.

Anyway, back to the companions.Going be BW's 2x2x2 (discounting dlcs) classes...

Mages:
1) An overworked Mages' Collective "cleaner". He made it is job to improve the life of mages by covering up and/or killing mages that stepped out line and harmed innocent people. He dreamed of someday freeing mages threw a peaceful resolution... Only to have all of his dreams blown straight to the Void by some abomination in Kirkwall. Very, very anti-Anders if he you kept him alive.

2) A ruthless Tevinter mage. She specializes in blood magic and healing. She will gleefully drain the life from opponents to heal herself and others. She is also on again/off again "friends" with a Spirit of Empathy (a new spirit!!) in the Fade. While she enjoys the knowledge she can gain from the spirit to empower her healing magic, she often breaks off their "friendship" when the spirit nags to much about being "kinder to those less fortunate." (easter egg)

Rogues:

1) Varric!!!! There must always be a Storyteller! *crosses fingers*

2) A mysterious Dalish elf that always seem to be around when you are in trouble, and later she joins your group. She doesn't talk much about about past, only saying that she left her clan to search for someone. (Depending on your import, she is after Hawke and or Merrill for the death of the clan/Keeper).

Warriors:

1) Most likely Cassandra.

2) A female Kossith that rejected her role with the Qun. She is seeking a way in life without the only constant she has had.  She relies on her strength to be hired as a mercenary, but she later leaves that path when she encounter the hero. She hopes they hero will lead her to a path of greatness, where she can show her people that one does not need a role to have a place (if that makes sense).

Please leave your own hopes for the future heroes (other than not Hawke Posted Image) and companions. I wonder what everyone else might like to see in the future.

Would quite like to return to being able to play different races again, with different back story but linked in various ways with earlier games.
People as companions: How about Connor as mage - although I suppose this would create problems if you killed him/gave him to demon in Origins?
I'd like Charade as a LI as she seems reasonably intelligent and is reasonably uncomplicated, though she seems to have a liking for gossip and would give a link with DA2 which allows her some knowledge of what went on without being too "in the know".
Would like other companions or NPCs to crop up who reflect the areas of Thedas we haven't yet visited, assuming we aren't actually based there. I think it was Rivain where they have "Wise Women" who deliberately allow themselves to be possessed but presumably are able to control it - so meeting one of these would be interesting.
Also an Orlesian chevalier because these guys think they are divinely sanctioned to do as they please, so would be fun helping to alter their perspective on life (or reinforcing that view if you are that way inclined)

A rabidly anti-Orlesian, anti-Tevinter, anti-blood mage half-Fereldan, half-Tevinter guile hero mage. His skill set could be a reimagining of the Arcane Warrior specialization and he could be just as ruthless to his own people as the Templars are. His quests could have him question whether his ruthlessness does more harm than good.

If I can't play Hawke I probably won't even play at all. Simple reason is that we were left with half a story in DA2. The whole destiny and change thing didn't really show up in the game. I mean Hawke is just running around fixing stuff without a proper reward or impact.

If the Hawke story does not continue in DA3 then DA2 is neglectable.

I want Shale back in female dwarf form. She made it to Tevinter and was able to reverse the process yet retain some golem abilities. I like the OP's blood mage and Dalish rogue.

I also want the origins back of various races.

Warriors;

Cassandra, love interest for male characters.

Cullen: love interest to female characters. Also to see how a fully-trained templar who needs their lyrium fix handle inter-party relations and the pro chantry side of the party dynamics.

Some Qunari who knows Sten from Origins. Heck, maybe we could have an origin story where we serve under Sten.

Rogues:

Varic/Leliana: We need those storytellers. Either archer works. They're both full of b.s. One is simply more poetic. Heck, maybe both. Would be great to hear the banter between them. One tells old legends, the other makes things up as he goes.

Zevran: Can't have a game without a charming assassin flirting with everyone, and killing many of them. Heck, maybe another Antivan crow.

Mages:

Connor: Depending on him living through the import. He'd be a teenager by the end of DA2. That would make him the perfect age in DA3 to be a powerful mage companion.

Old God Baby: If we don't play as him, then we should have him and Morrigan...at least make an appearance. Maybe even subtly influence what he does with his incredible power.

Some Hardcore Libertarian: Just to hear the banter with Cullen.

A very girly snobby Orlesian Mage that makes everyone pull their hair out with rage while she talks down on everyone/everything in her annoying accent  as well as having a  short fuse..

Im thinking Qara from nwn2 would be fun to have her get everyone in constant big trouble because she losses her temper and starts using her magic very irresponsibly.

PC is a seeker, one way or another the mage war has to end.

I have a thing for sarky pilots/engineers so companion #1 would be a ship captain. (The ship is the home base)

Charade as a rogue archer. My head!canon is that Hawke gave her the family estate so maybe she's looking for her cousin or Varric sent her or something.

Dwarf Shale is a must!

I want an alienage elf. We've never had an elf companion who is a product of that situation and their views would be very different from Merril's (Dalish), Zevran's (Antivan Crow/raised in a **** house) and Valenna's (Dalish).

As Gervaise said they should also reflect the areas of Thedas we pick them up from at least a bit.

I would like the new protagonist be another member of the Amell family, carrying on with the magi bloodline. I would prefer the protagonist be inside a circle during an rite of annulment due to the circle uprising and revolting, the protagonist escapes the circle and becomes an apostate. The party members I would like is Cassandra, god baby or Flemeth or Morrgan, a drawf, an elf who is unsure who to side with (dalish or humans) and you help decide the choice, a Qunari (preferably a female as I want to see what they look like) and a new species that was announced but was never in da 2 (can someone back me up on this?) and finally a sibling (sibling relations are always cool and funny). I pretty much want variety in race, gender and abilities. Creating differen views on life, conflicting ideas and religions and morals.

I like the idea of Shale coming back, if your Warden activated Shale but didn't do her personal quest then she's still a golem but if your Warden did then Shale is a dwarf again.

It would be interesting if Shianni was the alienage elf, she'd have a perspective that I think no one else on Thedas would have, the Bann of an alienage.

I think that might only work if your character was a city elf, though. Is there any mention of the Denerim alienage in Dragon Age 2 if you don't play as a city elf?

Full Templar Warrior who kills you through dialogue should you deny The Maker. There's no way to escape from him. I want him on my team.

Epic Templar Guy too. He's the best Templar around but has more tolerance than Full Templar Warrior. He's also epic and performs epic attacks and when you push the awesome button to have companions perform their special move, he grabs enemies up by the neck and snaps them.

Yep Shianni would make a good rogue.  Maybe bring back some kind of bard spec for her.

Yes, I forgot about Charade, have mentioned before I would like her as a companion. Having dwarf Shale would be cool also and Cullen as a lyrium addled templar suffering withdrawal could be fun (as long as they didn't overdo the crazy like they did with Anders). I would like to see Ogrhen back again especially if he gets his Mabari pulled sled.

Charade would make an interesting companion. Dwarf Shale is also nice. Some Dwarf is a must however. Maybe a noble or a casteless, and we get to see how things are for either side depending on Harrowmont or Bhelen (noble with Bhelen, Casteless leaving Orzammar with Harrowmont.)

Well here's what I posted on another thread. It's my idea for Origin stories, that involves a little bit of irony.

First, I predict (really it's actually me hoping) we'll be playing as a person who is recruited into the Seekers and can either:

A) Side with the Templars
B) Want the status quo to return
C) Side with the mages

Second, here's what I'd like to see depending on race:

1.) Human -- Warriors and rogues are from Nevarra. You're guards for the ruling family, the Pentaghasts, and your elite service catches the eye of the now broken Chantry. They are in dire need of more able people to help restore order, so they recruit you.

Mages on the other hand are a Tevinter slave. Your master abuses you and your family, and has gone so far to use your own sister as fodder for his spells. Fed up, you brutally slay him but are now awaiting execution. Many slaves have been planning another revolt for years and are now ready to do it if you are killed because you exacted justice, were friends with most of these slaves, and they too are fed up with Tevinter's system. Leliana, seeing what you did as justifiable and working undercover for the White Chantry, uses her bardic arts to persuade them to release you into her custody so as to avoid Tevinter facing another revolt. This revolt would destroy Tevinter, and while the Divine would like to see that, there are other issues they must deal with.

2) Elf -- Warriors and Rogues are from Antiva. A former assassin of the Antivan Crows, you left that life long ago when you fulfilled your last contract against a corrupt noble planning to take over the Antivan throne. Haunted by your past killings, you keep convincing yourself that it was nothing personal. But you have killed men, women, and even children because the Crows told you to. At the local tavern in glorious Antiva City, you overhear something outside. You venture outside to find the noble who hired the Crows standing over your guildmaster's corpse. Seeing you, he has now worked to frame you for the crime, and now the Crows hunt you relentlessly. Your only sanctuary is in the now broken Chantry as the Crows won't touch you there, but you vow to get revenge on that noble and prove your innocence.

Mages however are apostates from the Circle, now on the run. Your mother was a Dalish outcast long ago, and you are seeking them out for safe shelter from the rogue Templar dogs that now hunt you. Traveling from village to village, you avoid going near the Chantries. When you eventually find the Ralaferin clan and its Keeper Gisharel, you see more rogue Templar dogs. These ones however, are not after you, but are after the Keeper and his First. They are holding innocent children hostage in order to get the two mages. With no other choice, you defend them from the Templars. They offer you shelter within their clan, but the Seekers who are led by Cassandra arrive and take you with them. Their numbers are more than the clan, and you tell them not to try and defend you. You'll gladly submit so long as they will not be harmed. Cassandra agrees and you go with them. Seeing how far the Templars were willing to go kindles a fierce hatred of them in your soul.

3.) Dwarf -- Warriors and Rogues are an exiled Noble caste dwarf from Orzammar for a murder of one of Bhelen's allies that the Assembly doesn't know if you committed or not, but Bhelen says that should new evidence be brought to light that condemns you, they will hunt you down. Cast out, you now wander Ferelden, unsure of what to do now. The only person who said they would still talk to you is a good friend of yours from the Mining Caste who said he'd help you in any way he could. As you wander the countryside, you think to yourself that you'll become a mercenary or a smuggler. Working for a new mercenary company or smuggler group, your skills catch the attention of the Seekers. The Seekers have been doing some spying on you and now approach you. They know about your contact in Orzammar, and want to use that to help bring the Templars under their control again. With the Chantry now fractured and Dagna's books having caused a free Circle to be established in Orzammar, they need as much lyrium as they can. Even if you refuse, they threaten to use forged evidence against you and send it to Orzammar. With not much choice, you grudgingly accept.

4.) Tal-Vashoth -- Once a devout follower of the Qun, you left that life seeking a freedom you never thought possible. Your time as Tal-Vashoth has showed you the flaws of the Qunari as well as the flaws of everyone else. Wandering about, you sell yourself as mercenary to the Chantry. The mages and Templars don't matter to you. The Chantry isn't important. What matters to you is your new freedom. Freedom to live your life the way you choose to.

Females have an added reason for leaving the Qun. They wanted to prove that they could fight. That women can indeed be warriors. If she can't prove it to the Qunari, she'll prove it to herself.

Posted Image

Lastly, all of these roles would preferably be fully voiced by different VAs and Bioware shall implement a voice toggle ^_^.

Now, for companions:

  • Maraas (Love interest)
  • Dwarf Shale
  • Feynriel
  • Velanna (Love interest)
  • Charade
  • Cassandra (love interest)
  • Athenril (Love interest)
  • Sigrun (with longer hair)
  • Nathaniel (Love interest)
  • Male Dwarf (love interest)

Nathaniel and Velanna could be like the Stone Prisoner and the Exiled Prince, and if you don't romance either of them they romance each other.

^ Why not Charade as a romance? And why not Sigrun?!

Anyway, for my PC, I'd quite like to go back to playing someone with authority (like the warden, but not necessarily another warden). Playing as a nobody is fine and everything but I don't fancy another 'rise to power' from obscurity so soon, unless my character turns out to be inherently important to the story somehow (as with BG, KotOR, JE) I'd rather just start out as someone already relatively important (a former senior templar/enchanter or something) and go from there.

As for companions, all I'd really like is some who come in pairs, who knew each other before teaming up with the PC and have their own dynamic (Ideally Leliana and Cassandra, I'd love to see how the interact casually, but it needn't be them specifically).

Otherwise I'll take what I'm given and make the best of it.

For a companion, we need a rebel templar. He'd be an enormously devout man and an accomplished warrior who never thought locking people up was a good idea or even acceptable in the eyes of the Maker. After the fighting started in Kirkwall and hearing about what Meredith did, he got pissed and left the order.

He hopes to re-establish the templar order someday to make it something honorable and to be proud of. He thinks mages should be free like anyone else, but acknowledges that templars should be around to fight those mages that do turn evil. He opposes confining them like criminals in the circle.

He has problems with lyrium withdrawal.  This could give him a talent tree similar to the berserker tree...the longer he goes without drinking a lyrium potion, the crazier and more aggressive he gets.  At its worst, his lyrium withdrawal berserk-rages do epic damage to enemies but constantly get him "killed" in fights.

He'll be the honorable guy you like, but can't take anywhere:lol:
