Whoa, supporting long hair in a VIDEO GAME (when Shepard is no longer in the freaking military no less) makes one a feminist now? This changes everything.

Sheprd can tell an Admiral that he cannot inspect her ship so she can also say "I wear my hair however the hell I please" Ashley can say the same thing now so she can wear her hair down to her ass if it grows that long ans the Alliance can't say a thing about it other than "nice hair williams".

I would LOVE to see Ash shut someone down like that :D

Apparently if your female and you have a differing opinion your a feminist to some people here...

Aside from that I cant really add more to what been said.  Aesthetics is a major factor and sometimes it does over rule practicality.  For better or worse is your own persepctive.  There are still buns and short hairstyles available. Bioware isnt taking that away.  Some people however do wish for more style and thats a reasonable suggestion. One that Bioware are keen to address it seems.

One the big issues for many people in ME2 was lack of options in the CC specifically hairstyles.  Its really nice to see that dispite being the last game they are adding new ones for us.  I welcome it completely

Please, enlighten me. I wish to know what you truly meant because I hate to break it to you, I'm not a mind-reader (nor is the rest of the internet).

'Feminism' is one term that's overused/misused a lot on BSN....mainly by those that have never read a real feminist piece of literature.  :pinched:

Technically you didn't really rejoin the Alliance in ME2 and rejoining the Spectres officially can be iffy.

this is a fictional military.. their hair could be at their feet for all i care. They all also spectres if you want to be a lore nut. If you want short hair that option is available to you.

Shepard is in a firefight, lining up a shot, then the wind blows his/her hair into his/her eyes blocking his/her field of vision. Shepard misses the shot.

Except it's a video game, so the wind won't blow hair in your eyes. If it looks good, who cares?

Ah, right. So I can safely assume that if you call yourself Christian, you would be this?

Though I can only assume that you only disagree with some of the things in the list, because disagreeing with all of it would be worrisome.

It does seem like a strange thing to be nitpicking over.

You know what else is against military regulations?  Punching a civilian reporter in the face on live television.  Smarting off to an admiral coming to inspect a ship.  Using your public persona to make inflammatory political statements that will probably be attributed to the entire Alliance.  It's possible for Shepard to do a lot of things that would get her drummed out of the service pretty quickly; her hair is the least of her worries.

So...you found one crazy blog on the internet.   I could find an offensive/sexist blog written by a man and post that to prove all men are pigs and that the above blogger is justified

Have you ever read a peer-reviewed piece of feminist literature written by an academic?

I disagree with all of it. It's a bunch of bull.

I would say a majority of it is too simplistic, but there are legitimate acts of supporting "rape culture" in there as well.
For instance, I'm not against prostitution per se, but currently it's badly broken and I suspect rather horrible for most people involved with it, at least in the US. I do feel that legalizing and regulating it would help.
Also, the stuff about all porn being problematic, well, that's the "too simplistic" part of it. Though some is, I'll say, worrisome.
On the other hand, things like "He mocks women who complain about sexual attacks, sexual harassment, street cat-calls, media depictions of women, or other forms of sexual objectification" are legitimate.

I disagree with quite a few of them. Most on the list would make you a douche bag, not someone who supports the raping of a woman. This person, and her followers are radicals. I don’t care much for radicals no matter your stance or choice of conviction.

I also tend to agree feminism is overused on the BSN, by feminist and anti-feminist alike. I see nothing wrong with a woman having long hair and still being able to kick serious ass. It is just a video game.

That is not legitimate at all. Sometimes it's the woman's fault. Saying that doesn't make a man a rape supporter.

I have read Feminist political theory, specifically International Relations, and I have to say it's meh. Like very meh.

I do not see how long hair is now a feminist agenda (which apparently was said with sarcasm). If anything, I'd think the opposite would be true.

True. Actually, everything's going to h*ll everywhere, nobody's going to care about long/short hair, etc ...except inevitably, there'll be some stiff-backed nitpicking admirals Shep hopefully won't run into. Image IPB
