Hi all and thanks for vewing my post. Now i downloaded pach 1.04 and it seams to have caused a lot of problems in the game.First of all i still can't find the Ancient Elven boots(i know where they are) and now the Ancient Elven Chest piece has disapeared as well(again i know where its located). Also after pach 1.04 even though i have 30 cunning and a point in deft hunds my rogue can bearely find any traps and if he dose he can't disable almost all of them(my previous rogue could do it with very very low cunning and 2 points in deft hands, even though this might be an intented change).

Please can someone offer me some help on this? Thanks in advance for any help.

P.S. i know there is a mod that fixes the Elven Boots thingy but how about the chest piece?

P.S.2: i hope i post this on the right section

If you look at the patch notes, you will see that patch 1.04 does not fix the missing Ancient Elven Boots, nor did it make any changes to the checks for traps and locks. The chest piece should be where it always was. There are at least two mods listed in the community fixit project that will cause the Ancient Elven Boots to spawn where they are suppose to, but there is no official fix for that. As to the other problems you are experiencing, these are not a function of the patch except possible the result of a faulty install. My first guess would be a mod conflict (as you didn't follow the posting guidelines in the read first thread pinned to the top of this forum I cannot be sure) or damaged game files.

Actualy i apologize because i should have read the patch notes.I don't curently use any mods or fix ups so there is no way to have any problems there. Also the game is installed since i palyed a "good" play through with none of the problems i said above so there shouldn't be a faulty install.ANyway i guess i will try to repair and/or reinstall the game and see what happens then. Thanks for your time reading my thread and thanks for posting a comment ;D!

About the traps, the reason why your previously rogue could disable more traps is because of the game mechanics. As far as I remember they haven't been changed at all and there is a post somewhere on this forum saying how many points deft hands and cunning gives to the check for traps and lock picking. http://social.biowar...66/index/243304

Hopefully it will help you understand why you couldn't disable so many traps on your second rogue.

Ah yes, forgot about how big the bonus is from deft hands. It adds +10 to the cunning modifier for lockpicking/traps only for each level of the skill. You might want to reload the Brecellian Forest/Ruins section to make certain you didn't miss the chest piece. If I remember correctly, it is in one of the side rooms off the "dining" area that has the nasty undead mage.

Unfortunately i don't have the save to go back right now but its located in the area witht he water to get in to the lower champers of the ruin,in a sarcophagus(sry i am not sure for the speling).I guess i will not have it for this playthroug.Oh well better luck next time right? ;)
