I've done several web search, and haven't found anyone else reporting this issue. Well, there was actually one hit that looked promising, but it redirected to Bioware's main page where I had a nice update on Mass Effect 3... but not a single word about the topic that had directed me there. Grrr.
So my questions are thus:
1) Do others have this problem with Book of the Waves, where there is absolutely NO REDUCTION to arcane spell failure? I've tried multiple configurations and characters and this just aint workin' in my game. It does work for mithral light shields and Eldritch Knight Chain.
2) Does anyone have any clues how I might work around it? My character's primary magic type is wizardry (Rogue 4, Wizard 6, EK 10, Arcane Trickster 8, to be precise), so it's not like I can just add the armored caster feat or anything, as that only applies to bards and warlocks.
Am I screwed? I don't know jack about using the toolset, but I did get far enough to note what appears to be a key clue:
When I go to the Item Property Activation Preference I note that the value is: ITEMPROP_ACTIVE_EQUIPPED_ONLY
When I look at, say, the Astral Rodent Charm or the Orglash Crystal -- which work as expected for me -- the value is: ITEMPROP_ACTIVE_EQUIPPED_OR_REPOSITORY
Granted, I don't know for certain if these are the correct values to look at, but the EQUIPPED ONLY vs. OR REPOSITORY sure to jump out at me. It would seem that the Book of the Waves should also have ITEMPROP_ACTIVE_EQUIPPED_OR_REPOSITORY as its value.
That said, I have absolutely no idea how to edit the item in the toolset, and I don't want to make my game crash. If any Toolset veterans want to give me a quick numbered list of steps, I'd be willing to consider giving that a try, however. Otherwise, that set of Imaskari Battlemage Armor that I've been carrying around since the barrow is going to keep collecting dust, and my Eldritch Knight chain from early in the OC will need to get me through until the end of the game. Not the end of the world I guess... but if there's a workaround, I'd like to know about it.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
