A weird idea:

Shepard is with a large holdout of soldiers in a large military anti-Reaper base on Earth as a massive battle is going on above in the star system. One last battle is about to take place. Despite it being a ground battle it is still very important to their victory/survival/Shepard's survival.

Shepard knows that he will most likely die in the battle and his group will probably be wiped out. He gives a final determined 'last stand/don't be afraid of death' speech whilst some music plays in the background.

Then the enemy is coming. Everyone is praying and waiting and preparing themselves knowing many of them if not all of them will die whilst a more space/Mass Effect themed version of this song here plays: (listen to it, its really good but very sad and depressing/bleak.)

An innocent untraumatized young soldier who has been with Shepard for a lot of the final battle looks wide eyed in horror at the great Commander Shepard.
'What do we do?'
Shepard looks at the incoming enemy then he looks at the soldiers.
