Act II. Specifically Mother Pertice and the Arishok rivalry. Followed by Legacy for taking steps in redeeming a rushed product.

Qunari on the Rise. The only thing I can say DA2 did 100% right.

If I had to choose 3 things (because I can't just say just 1) that were my favourite parts (based on having played DA:O before) they would be:

1. The friendshp/rivalry system (I still think it needs to be imrpoved, but that's another thread)
2. Rogue - from the combat to the skill trees, the rogue really out-shined the rest of them
3. The voiced protagonist - Lady Hawke's VA did a great job covering all 3 tones.

Off the top of my head.

Aveline - possibly one of my favourite Bioware characters
Varric - pure bad ass
The Qunari - loved the redesign and expanded lore about them
friendship/rivalry system
The Art direction
Sarcastic LadyHawke
The skill trees
The more visually responsive combat
Less "epic"

1. The skill trees

Everything else was horrible in my opinion.

So, so many things...

The combat on nightmare was a real challenge where I sleep-walked through nightmare mid-game onwards in DA:O - loved cross-class combos and the mage trees

Male mage Hawke's relationship with Anders. Zevran was great, but this time your LI was an integral part of the story making the end just crushing in a fantastic, immersive way.

Carver. Don't have a brother. Loved that DA2 made me experience one in a game. So many brilliantly written (and VOed) interactions. From 'good talk' to 'don't make me cry in front of the others you jackass'. I loved Legacy for this reason too.

Hawke's theme. So poigniant given the outcome for his/her family.

Beautifully written and diverse female characters. Aveline being the pinacle.

Sarcastic Hawke dialogue: 'I'm surprised you know what a note is, let alone be able to read one'!

So much win.

The banter and interaction. I knew what all of my companions thought about each other, which was brilliant. In Mass Effect I have no idea how Samara feels about Grunt, how Jack feels about Jacob or even how Tali feels about Garrus.

My favorite part of the actual game was Aveline's quest "the long road". I played it through twice, once taking Merrill and the second time taking Isabela, because their comments were hilarious. :P

Okay this one, admittedly one of my all time fav parts of the game. My Hawke's awkward silence in The Hanged Man while waiting for Aveline to make her move. The comments of the companions you take (Isabela especially) and Hawke's comments on the Wounded Coast at Ave's horrid attempts at conversation. I laughed so hard.

Oh and Mother Petrice getting an arrow in the head and the Revered Mother looking back and then keeping on going up the stairs. Petrice deserved that, it was luscious.

1)Hawke's comment that goes " the wounded coast ? is that near the injured cliffs? or massive head-trauma bay? no is that just me"
2) Most of Xennon's( B.E DLC) phrases like " Dont maaanhandle the Urrrchinn he's not forrr sale" "Get your own! "
3) When fighting Corypheus in Legacy Varric says " If he pulls a dragon out of his arse im leaving"

So if you had to pick your absolute favorite thing about DA2 what would it be? And don't say something like "the best thing was after I uninstalled it" even the most disappointed of us had something about the game that we liked I'm sure -.-

The non-linear skill system and the interactions between classes. It was real fun trying various party build.

The Amazing animations! Female Hawke's Sexy walk sums it up. Really all of them...
The banter Aveline and Isabella/Merril
Merril despite her VA sounding like she was trying too hard when you first meet her, she grows on you quickly.
Female Hawke's VA just sounds sexy
Male Hawke sounds cool
Sarcastic Hawke
Better looking armor
Environments looked like they had some design to them, despite the rerun use of them
Better combat that felt amazing minus the pop in enemies...
Qunari were the best arc
The family connection you get with your sib who doesnt commit suicide.
The team boost from friendship/lovers
The level up system
Music is the best in this game! I still listen to it daily
Some great 1 liners
Varric
The Story DLC Did everything right minus letting us have custom armor on our party members.
Day and Night system

Although I've whined endlessly on these forums about DA2, I'm at my third playthrough now. I actually like Nightmare difficulty quite a lot, in spite of the stupid wave system that is ruining it and somewhat turning it to another aoe fest at times.

I think combat is more or less okay, but could be a little bit slower. Story isn't really mind blowing, but again it's fine. The best part is that we are back at Thedas, and DA lore is there, these are the lands and places that we can connect to (mostly)

User interface overall needs a more "fantasy" look, like DA:O. Right now it just looks too minimalist and unimaginative.

The credits.

Tbh I would say the Arishok, a really good antagonist. And the option to kill Anders, I just had hoped I could have done it sooner, so annoying that guy...

I agree with people saying the characters. It was definitively a highlight of the game for me to finally get to have a talk with our companions. I think there should be even more character interaction. I know that might be asking for too much but I really crave more from the characters x3 There are "gaps" that are implied, like people playing card games together and Hawke and Varric buying drinks for each other, but you never actually see these things happening. I would very much like that ^^ little details like that would really flesh out the friendships more to me,it would also flesh out the relationships your companions have with each other. Wishful thinking I guess. I guess some thing are just meant to leave up to your imagination.

How about when it was over? Having just bought the game as it dropped to under 30 bucks, which at this point, the only reason i insist on finishing DA2 is that i will not waste the 30 bucks i paid for it and hope somewhere along the way it gets better?

I will say DA2 is WAY BETTER than TW2 but that is hardly a ringing endorsement as The Witcher 2 is consolized simplified moronic hack and slash juvenile TRASH......... with boobs.

The only thing that bugged me about The Long Road was that Bioware ended up shoving in a load of waves for us to fight once again. That quest could have been similar to Samara's loyalty in ME2 (no combat involved whatsoever) but Bioware of course just had to throw in a few waves for good measure.

The combat was a huge improvement. Also loved the branching/upgradeable talent trees. And the NPC were, as usual, quite excellent.

Oh, and I almost forgot: that it didn't have another "save the world"-plot. Those are getting stale.
