How about when it was over? Having just bought the game as it dropped to under 30 bucks, which at this point, the only reason i insist on finishing DA2 is that i will not waste the 30 bucks i paid for it and hope somewhere along the way it gets better?

I will say DA2 is WAY BETTER than TW2 but that is hardly a ringing endorsement as The Witcher 2 is consolized simplified moronic hack and slash juvenile TRASH......... with boobs.

But wasnt Origins hardore "questing" and collecting with soft porn interludes while occasionally killing a darkspawn with something pointy ?

Origins did have good points i'll admit Shock horror XD but yeah the save the world from impending destruction with your band of merry men women elf's and dwarf's did feel very stale but then again when you've played games as long as i have what doesn't feel like its been done a 1000 times allready

The end. Florence and the Machine's song in the credits is good. The rest, better left unsaid, there were brief moments within the game which I found some enjoyment in, but they remained few and far between.

1. Voiced protagonist - I like having a voice, even if it isn't my own.
2. Companion banter - this was wonderful.
3. Companions interacting with one another - wish I could have joined in more often.
4. Friendship/Rivalry - Better than love/hate.

My favorite part of DA2 was Varric's imaginary assault on his brothers mansion. My favorite character was Varric, the awesome caring good guy who looked out after me and my friends, even when nothing was much in it for him. He was just an all around good guy among some really messed up(but GOOD), party members.

My favorite part of DA2 is Act II and deep road. (Hate Act III)
My favorite character is Varric.
I enjoy the combat system. (But I hate there is no trap and spell combo)

The uninstall, yep definitely the uninstall.

The feeling of deep melancholy. No more hours deep into the night, absorbed in a rich fantasy world taking just one more quest after one more quest before sleep. As the BioWare chapter of my gaming history closes and they embrace the awesome button, the production of shallow, content-less drivel aimed at the age of consumerisation that will never produce a Mozart, Rembrandt, Hendrix or F.Scott Fitzgerald.

The best part of the game was clearly realising that like most things these days BioWare are much less producers of video game art in their new form and just another cash vehicle producing junk for mass consumption to an audience that considers simplification as innovation and DLC-based subscription models as a value proposition.

BioWare games that gave endless hours of quality escapism when most others in the genre didn't was a conundrum I didn't need in hindsight. The world has righted itself and now they clearly focus on cheap, crap production values like most other things these days.

Thus, my favourite part of DA2 was the uninstall.

The party banter was fantastic, as most of us agree with. Personally I loved the faster combat and voiced protagonist but understand why not everyone agrees there. I thought the companions were also a very strong part of DA2, and the companion quests definitely being the best part of the whole game imo. In some ways I also think if the Bioware team decided to focus on the qunari or just the mages it would have been better plot wise, it just skipped between ideas too often for me.

Oh yes and this, definitely this!! I felt in DAO my choices were restricted on so many occasions because I was simply worried about taking away friendship points from my companions, especially on those occasions they'd leave the party all together.

  • Anders. And that he is LI. Bio should call the game Anders age.
  • Default Hawke. That beard!
  • Rivalry|friendship. Now i can say my NPC that they are wrong and they don't leave me.

The voice work was definitely the best part for me, both for Hawke and for NPCs. All the companions had good voice work with Varric and Merrill as the standouts. Varric delivery went a long way towards making Hawke's story awesome. While Merrill was my favorite NPC to hear talk, with her welshy smexiness.

I wish the core game was like the Legacy DLC.

Favorite part? Chantry explosion. I hope we do get to see more things explode in the future. Like Kirkwall.

Acts 1&2.

I loved the more personal focus on Hawke's life, rather than the grand epic tale of the Warden.

I loved the fact that companions had their own homes and you got cinematic encounters with them when you went there.

I loved the rivalry system, which rewarded you for more than just pandering to your companions.

I loved most of the companions ... not all of them, but that is a personality clash thing, rather than them being poorly done.

And I loved the companions unique looks, rather than having them all eventually end up in the samey looking high end gear.
