The wonky eyes really made me go "Wah..?" on the original though.

THANK YOU!!!
When they first announced the winner for default femshep and pulled that small poster out, I peered in towards my screen and asked myself, "why is she cross-eyed?" The picture is so awesome, but that one little detail bugged the heck outta me.
But you have

Call me the odd man out...her eyes were not whack to begin with. The light source reflection in the eyes seems to be the culprit. Removed and zoomed in she appears to be looking at something above her and very close. Someone pointing a weapon at her maybe? And the sneer was there for a look of anger, contempt, whatever, but adds to the feel of the image. Sexy mouth isn't needed when she is getting knocked around.
Not at all. When the image is zoomed out and you see the full body shot, the picture totally makes sense. It's the zoomed in portrait that this was turned into that kinda makes it a little off. (Well, in my humble opinion)

Jeez...original looks very rushed compared to the revision, nice work.
She also looks a bit more mature in the revision. They should use that one for the marketing...
It probably is.
Seeing how Patryk is new to the industry, I hope he would be able to adjust quickly to this new format.
Just because he's new to the game industry doesn't mean he's new to art.

Isnt it sorta rude to 'revise' the drawing he worked hard on? Artists I know usually are very offended by these things
As a matter of fact it is to many artists. Being one myself, I wouldn't appreciate someone taking a piece of my work and modifying it to their specific tastes. The piece is his, it's his personal style and preferences that made the final product. I'm quite sure that if he wasn't satisfied with the piece, he wouldn't have released it for those of you saying it was a rush job. Bottom line is, it's rude to modify an artists work without his/her expressed permission.

Patrick's work is excellent, without question. When this pic was shown in BWTV I did notice the right eye looking a wee bit off.

^This - I know the OP had good intentions but fixing someone else work without their premission is not cool .

I think it's a great fix. Now I can finally use it as desktop background, and I'm not even a Femshep player.
QFT (except for the femshep bit)
Without that small change to the eyes, I just wouldn't be able to use the pic. I think that Patryk created an otherwise excellent piece. Just those eyes were throwing it it off.

Let's not speak for the artist, we don't know if he would be offended or not.
So lets say you're an artist and created a portrait of a character for a company who recently hired you, your artwork was criticized for having weird proportions and eyes, and ended up being photoshopped by some random fan. This fan posts his "work" on the forums of the company that you work for, and he takes credit for "fixing" your design when there's nothing to fix at all. A handfull of other fans come along and start making comments like, "oh thank you so much" and "now I can finally use this on my desktop", completely disregarding your original work. You wouldn't be offended? People these days...

If the artist can't handle the attention (both good and bad) then they need to find a new line of work.

It's one thing to have someone praise or critique your work, it's on a whole other level when someone has the nerve to modify your artwork and say they fixed it. This obviously isn't the same thing.

QFT.
Hmm you "touched up" someone else's work? Sorry, I can't subscribe to that. Critiquing is one thing, taking someone else's work and modifying it is another. Then to say it was made "better" is too far.

Yeah, the eyes always looked off to me. I also think she looks too young, but that's a whole other degree of fix, I imagine. Good work regardless, both to you and to the original artist.
You do realize that Patryk's original piece took hours, maybe even days, to complete. And this guy made small modifications through photoshop within a few minutes.
