if no one here is claiming to be an official bioware rep [imo] their opinion doesnt really matter: i hope the image is reposted assuming bioware / patryk dont mind

Just an update: I have sent Patryk an email seeking his permission to repost the image.
And for clarification, I did not remove the image due to any particular pressure from anyone. I did it out of respect for Patryk and his work. I've even received some really nasty and hate filled messages because of this. Sadly, those nasty messages had no bearing on my decision. (Though I did thank them for taking the time to send me a message.)
WHAT!!!! that is freaking ... serious people need to really take a chill pill... like damn. Well Idoits are going to be Idoits... lets see what he says - I hope he says Yes.
I've learned years ago that no matter what you do SOMEONE will always hate it so I gave up trying to please everyone. My typical responce to the haters is usually in the form of "Thank you for your reply and taking the time out of your busy life to reply to my topic."

Particularly when, as gamers, many of us in here have been modding game developers ' art ' for years to make it better and more to our personal liking...

Great to hear Quaigee. It's no surprise to me that Patryk said it was fine to do, I can't imagine a professional artist getting bent out of shape because he has fans who care enough about their work to devote one's own time in fiddling with it for fun and community.
Oh and thanks for the 1080p version

The nose and lips were the biggest issues, in my opinion, because they were evidently unfinished. The nose seemed like half of it had been drawn, and the lips on the upper side were likewise smudged. And they were edited quite nicely.
In a way it was somewhat presumptuous of the OP to do this prior to obtaining permission from the original artist, but as Patryk has since extended his blessing I feel that I have little standing on which to criticize that now. Good job, Quaigee, both on the touch ups and on navigating the excessive vitriol with uncommon grace. Cheers.

The eyes (in regards to the irises) were never the problem.
To me, (in the framing BioWare used for this image) the irises were "off". It has more punch when she's looking directly at you. But there's no right or wrong answer here. It's all about personal taste.

Is there supposed to be a difference?

Zoom in on the image. The iris on the right eye has been modified, the upper left lip has been evened out and the nose has been moved up and the right nostril has been tweaked.

There was nothing wrong with the image. It just made her look at the camera instead of being cross-eyed like she is in the original.
I made slight alterations to her lip and nose as well. I also never said there was anything "wrong" with it.

I have emailed Patryk asking for his permission and he replied! To directly quote him: "But please by ALL means, critic, overpaint, alter, discuss. It is fine by meYou guys help and motivate me (and other artist) to improve and to become better. So please bring back what you removed."
It's back on the first post!

It looks like she just survived a reaper attack. She may *have* lost a few pints of blood.

Made her right eye wider to match her left's, made the lighting on the nose a tad narrower, and lifted a side of her lip up a little. Here's the 1080p for anyone interested.

Did an edit of my own, a bit inspired by quaigee's efforts. I hope you don't mind me hosting it here.

Don't give up. Basically it's a lot of work with layers, changing the hue and saturation of some layers and erasing away bits and pieces. The best way to learn is to simply play with it.
