I've followed the guide in the link and after doing 5 out of the 7 requirements for the Mage Hunter achievements, I didn't get it to pop after finishing Best Served Cold and speaking to Orsino.

I sent Feynriel to the Circle...
made Feynriel tranquil...
sided with Meredith at the end of act 2...
sent Emile back to the Circle...
and agreed with Samson about the mages+got him reinstated to the templars.

However, I did allow Grace and the mages to escape during Act of Mercy and kept Keran with the Templars during Enemies Among Us.

Is this achievement bugged?  I could do another playthrough where I do absolutely everything anti-mage, though I'm a bit annoyed that I'm almost done with the game and have found out that I won't be getting the achievement, where ideally I would have sided with the mages during all of these scenarios.  I don't want to have to do another playthrough with the sole purpose of getting the mage hunter achievement, but it looks like I'll have to.

Perhaps after playing a warrior, rogue and mage for the achievement, I'll just have to do a mage-hating templar playthrough.  I just wish that you could keep Carver as a warrior, as I feel bad going anti-mage while Bethany is locked away in the circle.

Although it's not listed, is it required to side with Meredith at the beginning of act 3? It does seem odd to be working with the templars and yet it's Orsino who gave my rogue the Best Served Cold quest. I took the "neutral" stance during their initial argument.

Although I haven't try to get this achievement yet, myself, try looking through some of the tips posted in this forum.

Hopefully it will help you.

I have yet to do "The Last Straw", so I'll see if I have, in fact, ruined this pro-templar playthrough.

I just like being the good guy/heroic character in rpgs and I don't want to have to do another anti-mage playthrough just for the sake of this achievement.

I think siding with Meridith at the beginning of act three is very important.

I'm thinking that too, as if I'm siding with Meredith, then I shouldn't be getting letters from Orsino. I just wish I had some warning, as the wiki site doesn't say anything about being neutral=siding with Orsino.

I did have backup save files, but only from the beginning of each act, and my act 3 save was immediately after this conversation.  Plus, my mistakes took place during act 1, which would require some backtracking.

I'll just do another anti-mage playthrough later, going 7/7 on the list, and then switching sides once Meredith calls for the RoA. I just hate how this was supposed to be my one pro-templar run, and now I'll have to do another. I can just imagine that Malcolm Hawke was turning in his grave with his child going anti-mage. Even with all of the psychotic mages in Kirkwall, siding with Meredith still feels wrong.

Being Viscount isn't much of a boon, when Hawke still disappears soon after.

This is a stupid question, but don't you have an autosave at the beginning of the act?

The autosave comes after the conversation.

Ouch. Well then there is properly nothing to do.

Indeed. I guess I should have been 100% anti-mage from the start, but I couldn't let the templars kick Kerran out just for being a kidnapping victim, and I wanted access to the Underground Railroad quests by siding with Grace in act 1.

By doing research on this achievement, I thought I only had to do 5/7 of the requirements.

@Arthur Cousland

I hear you on that, since the description only says 'side with the Templars 5 times.

You would think that was all that mattered, instead of it including specific choices.

Why is it considered pro mage to keep keran in the templars?

IIRC, the actual dialogue, itself, defends magic. I could be wrong, been a while since I last played and I haven't reached that part yet on my current playthrough.
