Valern is in fact the salarian, which is something I've suspected for a long time.

I really liked this. It would make members of the council look professional politicians, then it wouldn't work for everyone because.

I kinda hope someone at Bioware will see this and add them in as like a Shadow Broker esque dossier. Or maybe we'll visit his private estate on Palaven and find his records.

It'd just be a nice touch to make him seem like less of a complete ****.

I totally agree with this!

Something like this should also be done for the other councilers, Udina and Anderson.

Anyone ever wonder if maybe his arrogance was an act to fuel Shepard's fire?

Maybe to test her/his mettle and temper.

I remember when this was posted the first time and I liked it then as well, I hope something like this is really going on behind the scenes and they give us a sneak peak in ME3.

Unfortunately, good threads like this are destined to fall to the back pages while people complain about companions and argue about the stupidity of paragon or renegade choices while demanding that those who do not match their preferred play style be punished.

This would make no sense. I could understand if he was a jerk about humans publicly but dealing with one of your top agents (even if they are not directly reporting to you in ME2) is a private matter and if he really supported Shepard he would have said it. As it is, Velarn is just an obstructive bureaucrat for the sake of hating humanity.

I was looking for this thread a few days back. I hope Bioware gives us something of this sort in ME3, but if it ain't in the leaked script (which I avoided), then it probably won't be.

I can see a Monty Python version of this event if Valern dies.
*valern dies*
Shepard finds his diary but can't read it.
Shepard: "Garrus your a turian, can you read what this says."
Garrus: "Of course, Commander."
Garrus starts reading the diary with the entries stated in the OP and at the end Garrus reads
Garrus: "If shepard wants to defeat the reapers, he can find the secret weapon in the temple of....aaaaaggggghhh..."
Shepard: "What?..."
Garrus rereads: "The temple of aaaagggghhhh...."
Tali: "What he's dead?"
Garrus: "He must have died while typing it..."
Shepard: "Oh come on, if he was dying he wouldn't just type aaaggghhh, he just say it!"
Garrus: "Well, thats what it says."
*Harbinger descends upon the building Shepard is in*
Garrus: "Its the legendary leader of AAAGGGHHH!!" *Garrus dies by being crushed by debris*  :D
.....cue garrus fanbase attack...

There were no air quotes.
Therefore this is all a forgery made by Velarn apologists.
