Go with Claymore. Thisisme already has a video of the "Lazy Vanguard" where he takes assault rifle and uses shockwave, so I vote Claymore + Shockwave.

Point. I will make the claymore work with Shockwave, whether it likes it or not!

Edit: I kill things WAY too fast with the claymore. Gonna try the Scimitar.
Edit 2: I've recorded a run with the Scimitar and with the Claymore. I'll let you guys judge which one is better.

For versatility nothing really beats the assault rifle. Not tried out the claymore much but I find the 1 shot reload trick thingy rather boring. the sniper rifle is a gimmick and annoying with powers through the scope. 
I never pass up the mattock, like a shotgun and smg in one, with the best weapon sound. You can fight at any range without fiddeling.

Maybe, but I rarely use the Mattock since it's very VERY strong.

Just kidding. I've moved on to the Geth Plasma Shotgun.

*serious*  If you can, could you post a video of it in action.  I've seen very few videos of it on a vanguard.  I can never get used to it on a vanguard.  On paper it has high damage per charged shot ( highest of all shotguns ) but actual in-game effectiveness, I am terrible with it ( you might say I am terrible with any shotgun, but its worse with that one ).

Point still stands with the vindicator. There is a lot of combat I prefer the scimitar over the mattock for pure effiency, so I haven't discovered it's gamebreaking.qualities, It's very strong against armor though, were the shotgun is weak.
the claymore basically forces you to charge, I prefer to mix it up a little. plus pumping multiple shots in the face of mooks is more satisfying then one big one, for me anyway.

All right you cant pick the Widow if you are playing as Vanguard.
I forgot only classes with sniper rifle training before the Collector vessel can use it.

I think you can mod your loadout with coalesced.ini

I have no faith in my modding abilities though, so I won't  If I did I'd totally give the Vanguard the revenant.

I tried to show a combination charging and casting biotics. I have never spent a lot of time with the GPS except with my assault Sentinel. It was nice change of pace for my Vanguard.

It looks pretty good, and you used shockwave too.  You used a little of everything in those fights.

C'mon, don't be such a stick in the mud.  Shockwave is fun to use, that's what matters.

You know you cant Dominate Harbinger, but if you use it against a collector right before he is possessed by Harbi he will fight for you.

And here is where Group Dominate is useful because you have more chances to control Harbi by using it on a collector group.

Defending the Hatch

i got the 1st part recorded also but didn't upload it .. nothing much to show besides tons of slammin .
so here 's the hatch , set FRAPS on and i didn't die .. wow , the Reapers must have intervened .
i got cautious in the last wave, staying up there playing the electrocutor. 
I would have gone on inside the ship but the game crashed during the transition . Been happening a few times lately.

I've been playing around with Squad inciendiary on my vanguard. Anyone else tried this? I miss the inferno aoe staggers but the squadmates should cause some and do much more damage and you can evolve another ability instead of cryo.
