Reminds me of a line from the Mass Effect 2 review in OXM:

"It's mature: not because of profanity or nudey bits, but because it tackles complicated themes without telling you what to think."

Mass Effect tells its story without resorting to lowest common denominator titillation and I think that's how it should stay. "Maturity" comes from the themes the game explores, and as the quote above says, it does so without wagging its finger at you.

Unapologetic, but not gratuitous. ME1 eroticism was fine in my book, but something beyond ME2 violence, which judging from what limited info we have, seems like we're going to get.

That's just my tastes, though.

I wouldn't mind a bit of mild gore (pumping some guy with a full mattock clip shouldn't mean he just falls to the floor dead, I think there should at least be a bit of blood) but nothing excessive, otherwise it loses its effect. All my friends who played ME2 were horrified when they found out what the Collectors did to humans (+ seeing Kelly getting processed too) and if there was loads and loads and loads of extreme violence in ME2 it wouldn't have had the same effect.

The gore, horror and maturity should match the scene. If Shepard is going to execute someone then actually show him do it rather than the off-screen BS. The ME universe is far too childish and sterile which is a major failing of most BW games like this.

I do not want to see ME:Doom running around in the super dark without a light for the entire game but a simple level like that with husks or Rachni would be interesting. The gore and maturity can vary rather well across the game from missions to missions if handled properly.

Being honest, I don't think it's about unfairness in this case. Headbump comes from the fact Garrus' body model would create quadrillion clipping issues. Then there's the fact aliens don't have naked bodies created for them unlike they did for humans (and Asari which is a human body painted blue). Notice how Tali 'sex scene' is also like 5 seconds long. Human Jacob on the other hand gets his own "take of your shirt and flex those hot pecs" scene, just like Miranda. There's alot of instances of clear bias towards ManShep content in ME2 (and ME1), but when it comes to sex scenes in 2, I really can see why FemShep scenes suffered from the problem that Thane & Garrus were aliens, just like Tali.

And honestly some people care about the sex scenes way too much. This is a war story.

I honestly don't care how much they show in the sex scene as long as it isn't over the top or extremely minimalized. By over the top I mean a 30 minute interactive porno. If it's 3 minutes and they don't hold back on nudity, I honestly don't care at all. As for gore, same thing. I would prefer a relatively realistic gore representation, but ME2 level would be alright.

Well I'm not sure on erotic I definitely don't want nude Asari prancing about like the girls from Saboteur!!!! If nudity is brought into 3 it should be for shep and their LI and done in MEs style of tasteful suggestive nudity outside of that even for the club girls it's not required.

Now dark and not in the color choices here BW I would support dark themes coming to light I'm sure you guys remember my rage thread on children soldiers but I'd like it to be implied that they're there I mean we asked for kids they got in I did warn those folks on child corpses come alone with it soooo we show some kids getting weapons shep looks shocked while we never see said kids in the battle we're in it's implied they are there somewhere would be fine for me. Also BW tends to bring up darker issues and run away fast like Mornith she's a serial killer we talk to her in club go home WITH A SERIAL KILLER and she's dead in 5 seconds flat no alternative world no implied she hurt shep nothing....and then the insanity of it all we can ask our the girl who wanted us dead to join our team what? At least the elf in DA tried to kill you again.

Horror I'm always up for horror coming into this series but realistically I'm fairly sure I won't get my way overlord was great but sense BWs all about the pew pew I don't see them giving me anymore levels of insanity. I'd love Billy to be a horror episode but sense the only serial killers we've meet so far are seen and then made PG faster then you can say ice cream I'm not holding my breathe that Billy will be properly portrayed as the Manson he should be. I mean even the nuke guy failed to be evil....

Gruesome.....we don't need saw type of gruesome I'm happy enough with what BW is purposing already that gore will be there but not for gore's sake they'll use it when appropriate.

I would like scenes that have emotion to be paced properly for instance the trial I don't want it rushed and tossed together we're gong on trial for both real and made up crimes so I expect to feel angry, cheated, ashamed, defiant,ect allow the scene to provoke the emotions they should from the player at the right times. I don't want to be going that's dumb when I should be like I screwed up I'm sorry!

Can shep's death come back with weight and emotion here he died DEID BW!

We should feel overwhelmed most of the game sense we're doing the impossible I want shep to show it in body language, hear it in his voice, and eventually have him break down from it and then find the will to keep fighting.

Very very true. KOTOR 2 for example is one of the most mature games ever, yet it's rated T for Teen.
