So I decided yesterday that I want to play ME1 again (for the umpteenth time). I'm fully aware of the SecuROM thing and the deauthorization tool. My problem now though is, when I've installed the game and want to start playing I get the message where it says I have to deauthorize my computer to play. I run the deauthorization tool and it says that there is no authorization active on this computer but the game still doesn't work.
I recently updated from Windows XP to Windows 7, so not sure if the problem might be there. Any help would be really appreciated as I really want to play this game again and I'm about to pull all my hair out.
Can't get ME1 to work

What the deauthorization tool does is to allow you to basically, notify EA that you are uninstalling the game from a computer. Did you run the tool on the old XP machine before moving to Win7? If you didn't and if you had installed the game on a number of computers before you may have hit your limit and you will need to contact EA to get it straightened out.
The other side of the issue is, are you connected to the internet and is the game allowed to access the internet when you are trying to run the game??

I have run the tool when I still had XP. Only now that I've got Windows 7 I want to play it again. The limit has been reached a while ago but I could still play by running the deauthorization tool. Only when I click "play game" I get the "you've reached your limit" message. But when I run the tool, it tells me there are no authorization on my machine. I spoke to a customer service guy last night and basically what he said was that the tools don't work atm. Just not sure if it was an automated message or not.
