There are all kinds of corny, stupid jokes about people of various ethnicities and appearance. Do you honestly believe anyone on this forum is under the ridiculous notion that hair color has anything in the slightest to do with intelligence?

People voted for this hair color simply because this is the version of FemShep they most want to see in the marketing materials and trailer. Clearly, we will all still be able to choose blonde hair when playing the game.

It was never BioWare's plan to hold two votes. If it was, we should have been told.

And much of anti-blonde comments i have seen in regards to the true Femshep 5 were not jokes. Though they were certainly stupid, they were lathered with copious amounts of vitriol.

"People" voted for the red hair colour because the poll was skewed. About 50 percent less people took part in the second poll, and it's reasonable to assume that those that maintained an interest in the story are those that originally didn't get their way.

I didn't know about the second round of voting, because i stopped following the story after the Shepard i wanted to win did.

It's not a fair or accurate summation of the feelings of the total fanbase at all.

Back to topic: Who re-done the original artwork? I think the original, she wasn’t suppose to be looking at “you”, but away--as if gazing toward a battle. It kind of made her eyes look skewed. It looks tons better with her eyes staring at the viewer. Kudos to whoever did that!

Can't appreciate it one bit as MacShep won't be salvageable with mods unlike FemHawke. Would appreciate any non-freckles, compatible skinned model.

Still alright but way beneath what could have been. Hoping that a skilled modder will give us skin choices though.

No, you can't. Not without a mod at least and freckles will look terribad with any other skin color which won't change in anyway if we're to learn from DA2.

I think he meant you can choose blond when making your own femshep. And if I am not mistaken, the regular default femshep also had freckles. When it showed her face up close, you could see them across her nose.
One of my femsheps has black hair and the freckles were still there. Light, but there. So maybe the new default will have the same lightness of freckles. This is concept art, after all.

 Im really glad the red head femshep my a comeback   

Although not 100% sure if the freckles are too heavy.  Its hard to judge on what been presented.  Either way Im glad she will be on the back of my CE box and in a trailer regardless.


Although my first play will still be with the original default Jane of course.  She wont be replaced that easily :happy:

I will purge the world of anti-blonde sentiment in much the way Shepard will purge the galaxy of the Reapers, though i will admit that comparing myself to Rosa Parks was a little misguided.

Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus because she herself was black. What she did was incredibly brave and noble, but ultimately a little bit selfish.

I myself am not blonde, so my crusade is a pure and selfless act. To that end, i'm a little better than Rosa.

It wasn't a sweet victory, really. It was more like in professional wrestling, when a villain wins a match by hitting his opponent with a steel folding chair while the referee is distracted.

I don't begrudge anyone being happy with the result, but it's not a fair one, and is not truly representative of the wishes of the Mass Effect fanbase.

I would prefer a blonde femshep grace the cover of my special edition (and in fact, i'll be painting mine to make this a reality come March)  but that's not the issue.

The issue is that childlike whining and misogyny has influenced the character design process, and then the result of a poll that was demonstrably unfairly tilted to suit a certain outcome was allowed to stand.

I for one am really really happy with the new default femshep. I love red hair and default femshep has always had red hair so that's the way it should be
Also trying to ignore the whiners who are getting annoyed that the majority of the fanbase wanted something different from them.
