OK - my previous PS3 YLOD and Sony sent me a factory refurbished one in return. I restored all of my data from the old PS3 using the Backup Utility, but then I remembered that it does not backup "Game Data" nor does it back up the "Profile" save file. Now, even though I have both my save files back on the new PS3, it is not recognizing them at all!

Also, at the moment, I am 4-5 missions away from completing an Insantiy run. Will I still be able to unlock the trophy without my old save? Or am I boned and will have to start over Insanity from the beginning?

I haven't tried it with ME2 but I've transferred saves and profile information from DA:O from one system to another without issue during an upgrade. This is by no means iron clad proof that you're in the clear but if I had to guess one way or the other I'd say you're likely fine.

I recently bought a second ps3 for my apartment, and had to transfer data via cloud storage. I was about halfway through. Beat the game on my new ps3 and the trophy did pop, so it should work (at least I think). Platinum trophy looks pretty sweet! :)

Thanks; the trophy popped for me as well, and you're right, platinum trophy looks pretty sweet! It is interesting to note though, that I think the save files are locked to your PSN ID, because when I tried to access the files on my new PS3, they would not appear in ME2 unless I logged in to PSN.
