I was just wondering if that ever leaked out, I heard that it was in the stream if you watched it live and considering how quick the internet is, maybe someone might've prnt scrn'd fast enough to catch it. I know that we already know what it was, that it was Hawke riding a dragon and that it was hinted to be future content, I'd just like to see it for myself, and unfortunately, my Google-Fu has turned up no results with the actual screenshot.
I think I heard that this was a concept intended to be in DA2 itself at one point but was cut.

I saw the post that John made while searching Google, it sounded like that was referencing something similar that came up during development. I also think that if it were the entire family or if it were Flemeth(he'd said it was to be Flemeth taking them to the boat) those things would've been noted by the wiki, or in the forums. I also recall them saying in the stream they posted later that that was a preview. I'm fairly certain they wouldn't have made any kind of deal out of content that wasn't going to recur in some way.Sith Grey Warden wrote...

Oh, and the screenshot was not previous in game stuff. It was of something created for the next story based DLC.

I haven't seen this screenshot. I have a feeling its just Hawke riding a dragon to kill it, but I would ADORE if Hawke tamed it.
It better be Hawke riding Flemeth in that case! "Can you tame the Witch of the Wilds? ;)"

I hope so, but it isn't up to me. I would think it should be a week or two.
Things are about to get interesting on the forums again...

Hey now. I have a healthy respect for Flemeth. In fear of her turning into a high dragon and burning my ass. Again. Either I get a griffon in DA3 or a dragon in DLC. I want a winged mount, simple enough.

My guess is that, while horse riding would be utilitarian (as in, used everywhere) and provoke a certain amount of new pathfinding issues on riding companions, a dragon ride will be a very specific instance, at high altitude and would have Hawke ride alone or sharing the ride, removing some of the most pressing problems regular mounts caused.sirdario1986 wrote...
Before DA2 was released, Laidlaw said that using horses in a game is not so easy as it could seem...well he said that it's not so easy if you want to do a decent animation; maybe riding a dragon is easier to create, even if I don't understand how...must be because dragons haven't mane...
Fitting a horse in Kirkwall cramped alleys and the wounded coast hallways is complicated. Fitting a dragon high above the scenario with no invisible walls or collision elements is easy.

But yeah, it was likely due to pathfinding issues. Either way, I'm stoked to hear more about this.

Hopefully this isn't just a minor part of some boss battle, though it would still be cool to ride a dragon.
