I think there's promise with the character, especially with him maturing a bit over the first years in Kirkwall. The problem I have is that we don't really have any example of his attitude away from Hawke (he may not be a jerk; he may just really not like you).berelinde wrote...
Yeah, I know, but here's to wishing. He's got that totally believable "abrasive jerk with a good heart" thing working for him, and I find it incredibly appealing.
But I couldn't say if he'd actually be any good as a standalone companion, especially since I'm really possessive of sibling-type characters. Hawke's story is as much to me the story of two brothers as it is just the one man, and I felt cheated out of a lot of interaction. I'd likely have a hard time seeing him outside that role (I'd probably still play him as Hawke's brother instead of just "Carver").
Except for Shale, I agree. Shale is immortal (for now). Her story can never fully be told. But David is obligated to try. :-)berelinde wrote...
Of the DA bunch, their stories are already told. I'm violently sick of Leliana and Morrigan is right behind. Of the Awakening crew, I find that I want Sigrun. I loved her.
Definitely Leliana and Morrigan, and unfortunately the two we're most likely to see (but mercifully not as companions, I bet). Luckily, I don't think Sten would come back (or that you would even be able to tell that it was the same Sten if he did). Alistair is busy. Wynne is dead or dying. Oghren is too much one-note comedic relief (gold as his comedy is) to get the spotlight again. Zevran to me would have no point (like you're going to join up with some grandpa assassin for your big quest).
