A real killer when you're usually lauded as some boring stuck-up, only grudgingly admitted to a party, then discover they actually have really good speakers with lots of oomph, get your song wish fulfilled (also grudgingly of course) and then the base hits everyone like a tidal wave. Then the moment when boring stuck-up party grinch is uniformly pressed into the makeshift DJ position.
True story.

Not really Cyber-Goth, but for Synth-Goth just look up early Dead or Alive and late Sisters of Mercy(and Sisterhood). You might also like Fields of the Nephilim.For some reason I'm on an Asphyxia trip:

Those two bands along with Bauhaus pretty much shaped Gothic music anyway.
