A really strange issue has occured for me, where an animation exists for an actor where there is none on the timeline.
Specifically an idle animation.

I recall encountering an error message a while before, stating something along the lines of "Animation cannot be ????, but will exist in the cutscene" though I paid it no mind at the time and hit "undo" hoping the action will be reversed.

Now, I can see that the actor has an animation overlapping with the one I actually want, basically borking the scene at that instant.

Specs: no actor pose, no camera angle change, no duplicate actor, in fact, no information at that point in the timeline that could cause this issue.

Has anyone else experienced thie "ghost animation" issue? I can't find away to delete it, since there is nothing on the timeline to delete...and I don't want to cut time then add time if I can avoid it.

Edit: I am trying to delete then add that time again, and I found the error I wrote about before:

E: 12:53:43 - Failed to add action to timeline.  The action still exists in the cutscene, but could not be displayed.

I fixed it by in fact deleting and reinserting time to the affected area on the timeline and returning all the keys and relevant animations to their original positions.

I had hoped to avoid this...but at least it worked.

Edit: A most curious thing!

After deleting / adding time, and making a few edits/saves prior to the problematic point,  the ghost animation reappeared in the cutscene. When I checked the timeline for any issues, the offending animation appeared in the timeline! I deleted it.

Odd.

Strange, is the actor new or is it a single player included actor? What was the name of the offending animation that you ended up deleting?

I don't think the animation itself is relevant, (mh.po_tw_a4) but more like what happened when I first inserted it. The animation works perfectly in other areas in the scene for the same actor.

I might have clicked on split or some function too quickly, or copied and pasted it... when that strange (and rare!) error showed up. Unfortunately I can't remember what I did to cause the error first time I saw it :(. After I continued working only in my next load did it appear "invisibly".

It is a custom actor, with its own race GDA added to a module extended to single player.
