Thanks for that, I really like to mix up gunplay and power useage so looking forward to it though I hope my "no guns" adept will still be feasible :)

Perhaps more than you might think... ;)

Hi, Brenon. Is there any chance that Charge will work like Tela Vasir's did in LotSB, in that you can use it to navigate the battlefield in addition to using it as an offensive maneuver?

Mmm, sadly no... too many targetting / pathing issues. However, we do have fixes to make Charge more reliable... I will say that the new heavy melee for them is a lot of fun though... a Trooper was lifted, and then his head was literally spiked into the ground... :o

Oh nice!

Two more (last) from me:
1. Are there mods in ME3 for Heavy Weapons (I suspect no but I thougt I'd ask anyway)
2. Anything you can tell us about the PC requirements for ME3? Are they still in line to be similar to ME2's? Any DX10 or 11 support this time? (last part is just something that was brought up here on the forums that I'm now curious about)

Bed time for me pretty quick here but...

Nope, no modding of heavy weapons...

I'm not sure what the PC requirements are, if I had to guess - most likely similar to ME2. There have been a lot of graphical improvements but I'm not sure if any of it is leveraging any new DX features...

The vanguard's heavy melee sounds awesome.  Obviously there will be biotics involved, but I wonder if the "spike into the ground" is the omni-blade or more biotic fury.

To Brenon:

Perhaps you don`t know, or perhaps it`s not your place to give an answer to this as it might be spoilers, but considering how it has been revealed that we will be able to explore the Citadel, how does it look/feel?

Is it more along the lines of ME1 with Presidium/Wards where we have pretty much a feel to be able to explore a 'complete' Citadel, or should we expect more like how it felt in ME2, where it feels you can only explore a 'small piece of the Citadel' with the few Citadel-levels you were bound to?

(Also, even more spoiler-ized, will there be action there, or will it be exploration only? ;) )

Are there new weapons(Not including Heavy)?
What are the areas of most Weapons you can Mod?Most vids show it's mostly Barrel and Grip/Stock.

Brenon, no question from me, but a really big thank you for taking your time at answering these small inquiries. Some of them were bugging and worrying me (like teammate animations and lots of stuff about weapons and powers you mentioned), and now it's all alleviated. You rock.

Are Grunt fans going to be disappointed even if Grunt isn't a squadmate. Like, if he isn't will he have awesome moments showing his badassery to compensate for lack of squadmate status?

Are grenades a soldier exclusive power? Or is it a weapon everyone can use but certain classes can upgrade via powers?

"EDIT"

Can we later down the line expect to get information on all the classes powers and abilities?

@ Brenon: I asked this question in the other topic, however, the topic suddenly ended.

If i may be so bold to ask 2 small questions:
Are the high heels finaly going to disappear?
And are the squadmates going to have proper armor again, instead of a boob-strap or spendex suit?

I ask, because my biggest gripe about ME2 was the rediculousness of the clothing of the Normandy-'babes' going into battle. I found it very interesting that only the men had armor, and other combat clothing, and the woman ran in high heels and cat-suits.

I have a few...

- Ilos. Will we return to it in ME3?

- Will we be able to explore the lowest section of the normandy? The area where we fought the laser ball enemy thing during the suicide run mission in ME2.

- 1 disc? 2 discs? or 3 discs?

Any chance the same applies to squadmates as well?

Yep, when in combat (not exploration) and there are no enemies around, the henchmen lower their weapons. Though we're still polishing that.

You have no idea how happy this small tidbit of news makes me.

The only thing better than that would be if Shepard would lower his/her weapon while out of combat (without holstering it I mean), but I can see where that would cause issues with the gameplay of ME.

This is actually a step away from realism.  I was taught to patrol with my weapon up.  On long patrols you can aim from the hip, but you still always point the dangerous end where you're looking.  Certainly moving around mid engagement you'd have your weapon up in the aim unless you were crossing an obstacle or something (which you'd only do with a buddy covering you ready to snap shoot).  You never know when you'll spot someone that needs to be dead right this instant.

if i may ask a few questions:

1. in the PC version: mouse scroll functionality will be restored like it was in ME1? (scrolling in save/load screen, codex entries, etc. in ME2 it wasn't implemented)

2. in the PC version: mouse double click functionality will be restored like it was in ME1? (double click on a save file didn't load unless you clicked at load button)

3. i unterstand that there will be mods for upgrading our weapons, but will be permanent upgrades for weapons / weapon types like it was in ME2?

4. will be different upgradeable/modifiable base armors for Shepard (not parts) with different attributes for different playstyles, for example one base armor will be better suited for gun based combat, while other for power usage, or an another for defense?

5. Shepard's walking+turning animation (while holstering our weapons) will be as smooth as was in ME1, or sudden/choppy as in was in ME2? example: ME1 smooth vs ME2 sudden

6. omni-blade will be upgradeable? if yes, with items, or it will evolve by Shepard's skills/powers, or both?

thank you

I would also like to know this.

I was not much of a fan of how dissected into small areas with no passage that specifically felt natural around [a complete] Citadel in ME2. Restricted to only a few areas that felt like seporate places [with individual looks and feels] but in a way that felt way like they were not part of the same place. Each tiny area gave the feeling they could of been on different worlds because there was no connection between them all to see, just loading screens. In ME2 the Citadel felt more like a bungalow or cottage in size compared to a tower block or shopping mall scale of ME1 Citadel and being pretty much the hub in space where major decisions aka council exist then surely the latter is more in tune with feeling should have when there.

I have a sneaky feeling however the answer to this question is not the one would hope for and will end up like ME2 as opposed to ME1's feel of scale and exploration of the Citadel [the galactic hub for all races]. :crying:

Wow. Lots of good info rearing up around here... Thanks Brenon! We really appretiate it!

Could you tell us how effective the new concussive shot amplified by the ammo type you equip is? Does it mimic a lesser version other classes' powers, like the engineer's incinerate or cryo blast? If so, how does it compare those powers it imitates?

It's awesome that the Dev's from Bioware take the time to answer questions like this, can't thank you enough for taking the time to do this man.

One question I had deals with the SMG's and how they are held. In ME2 all SMGs are held like pistols, which makes sense for machine pistols like the one you start out with, but looks goofy with models like the locust that have a vertical forward grip, which exist to help with stability and accuracy by giving you more leverage to combat muzzle climb and are supposedly more accurate at range than the others. So will the characters hold them properly now? Or will it still be the single grip style (an understandable decision to cut down on the number of animations required).

I'm not really sure, sorry. I've been there, but haven't spent a lot of time exploring it. I'm still only a bit into my playthrough, and I've only been there to look at bugs so far.

Frag grenades are soldier exclusive, I believe. I'd suggest poking Eric and Manveer for more specifics.

Depends on what you mean by heels... if you mean pumps, I don't think we have those... if you mean wedges, or that type of style - they're staying.

Female rigs aren't as tall as male rigs in ME, lifting them up a bit makes it easier for some of the combat animations to be ported.

And are the squadmates going to have proper armor again, instead of a boob-strap or spendex suit?

I'm not sure (I tend to just use Garrus and Tali when I'm testing stuff), but I believe Casey's talked a bit about that.

Yes, there's double click and scrolling support - not too sure about the specific menus you mentioned.

3. i unterstand that there will be mods for upgrading our weapons, but will be permanent upgrades for weapons / weapon types like it was in ME2?

Modding only works on a specific weapon. There might be other stuff that affects your weapons, but I'm not really going to talk about that.

4. will be different upgradeable/modifiable base armors for Shepard (not parts) with different attributes for different playstyles, for example one base armor will be better suited for gun based combat, while other for power usage, or an another for defense?

Shepard uses the ME2 armour system, not ME1. So, no.

Your melee skills can be improved, yes (via class stuff, not sure about gear...)

FINALLY something Vanguard-related!

Any new tricks for the Vanguard? Biotic charge is the most awesome ability in the ME games ( and forever stopped me from being interested in the other classes ), so I don't expect anything to top it. But maybe less of a focus on ammo powers and more biotic tricks?

Also, can we keep ammo powers from squadmates ( i.e. Warp Ammo from Jack ), if we import a Shepard who took that specialization?
