Think abot it, if he's alive and Shepard spared him, s/he'll be working with Balak out of convenience. Balak blew up Terra Nova which was humanity's biggest colony. Shepard detroyed an entire Batarian system. They did pretty much the same thing but for different sides. The chemestry wuld be amazing.

Yeah right, you would want a Batarian (any Batarian for that matter) to watch your back during combat? Shepard might as well shoot himself in the head, quicker that way. Shepard is Batarian public enemy number one by now. I wouldn't be surprised if the Batarian government offers a reward for the one to kill Shepard so I would NEVER want one of them on my squad.

He's from the Bring Down the Sky DLC from Mass Effect.  He tried to bring down  an asteroid on to the planet of Terra Nova and kill all the humans that lived there.  The asteroid was heading towards the captiol city with has over one million citizens.

The guy is a batarian extremist.

I don't get that.  For two reasons actually.

One, the batarians seem to really hate humans.
Two, Shepard killed 305,000 batarians and destroyed the relay to their system.

Why would any batarian work with Shepard?

If I was a Batarian I would be pissed off and reluctant BUT, if Shepard can provide me decent evidence that Shepards motives were for the better good and not because of the Batarians hate Humans conflict then I would join.

Simple: the reapers. Jack hated Cerberus as much as batarians hate humans, but the imminent galactic apacolypse was enough to get her to stay with Shepard and work with Cerberus. It's not implausible for at least one batarian to be willing to put aside their hate for Shepard long enough to stop the extinction of the batarians.

Jack only really joined because Shepard allowed her to look at Cerberus files.   And like many others, she was working for Shepard, not Cerberus.  That is what Dr. Chakwas said.

And Shepard destroyed the cure for the genophage that Saren was making, but almost none of the krogan seem to mind it. The batarians might by and large hate Shepard, but not every batarian is going to hate him. 300000 might sound like a lot, but how many batarians are there out there? It's not like their civilization got destroyed by him.

No, the Reapers are going to be responsible for that, if anyone is.
