I'm thinking that if it isn't a squadmate it'll be a mission where Shepard comes in contact with some Prothean artifact like the one in Eletania and the vision of being someone in the past will be playable.

How can the robot dog be a squad member, ******? Then again it could help you a lot in battle, it could hump the enemy's leg and distract them whilst you put a few rounds in them. Yeah, that's a great idea. We got a bonus character when we bought ME2, why can't it be the same for this one? Or do you just want to insult people because you've got nothing else better to do?

You'd have to be pretty naive to believe that BioWare won't be doing DLC characters again after they did them in Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, and Dragon Age II. Three games in a row.

Those that insist the bonus DLC character is only a rumor should bear this in mind -- Dragon age, Mass Effect 2, and Dragon age 2, i. e. bioware's last three releases, have all come with a day 1 dlc character and mission. And those have come with all new copies if I'm not mistaken, not just collectors editions.

Zaeed and Kasumi have already been stated to make appearances, so I doubt one of them would get a separate, additional DLC.

There probably will be a DLC character... I don't know why they wouldn't include one for the last of the trilogy when they did for ME2. At the very least, it'll be like the cerberus network where you can get free DLC.

if we're not getting one the picture showing off all thestuff in the CE needs to be changed. On that in the bottom corner where it's talking about more stuff that you get. (to the right of the picture of the squadmates in different armour) it says quite clearly. "Additional Downloadable Mission and Squadmate."
Edit so either the bonus character is in there and it's being hinted at as a DLC for non CE buyers... Or certain things are rather out of date and they need to change it.

The image still says "Additional Downloadable Mission and Character." What they removed was the text that included "The Prothean".
