I'm going to open and close my latest mod with a little more panache, I hope Image IPB

For the closing cut scene I have prepared a sequence of power point slides which I want to include as the closing credits. I am thinking that I can use fraps to capture the presentation then present it in the ending as a video file or I can capture each slide as a .tga and put them on the conversation node.

Has anybody done any video inserts like this and do you have any tips. the .tga bit is simple and I can do that but how do I insert the video file and construct the timings. This I have to learn but if anyone has any experience they are willing to share I would be grateful.

For PoE I captured a PowerPoint slideshow for my intro and end movies and then used the avi to .bic converted to get them into the nwn2 movie format. Iirc I used camtasia for capture since the fraps freeware has a thirty second limit and overlays the fraps.com, while camtasia is a full featured demo but the demo is only for 30 days.

I've been thinking to buy Fraps but I think I am at less than 30 secs at the moment.
Did camtasia come with the advert text in the final output like Fraps does.
How did you fire the video for the ending, can you script it out of a convo. I know I have the module on enter movie clip dropdown, so the start movie is okay.
I have just started thinking about this, and searched the standards script for video and movie, nothing comes up. Am I missing something obvious?

The end module script will automatically play a movie iirc.

I use the full version of FRAPS to capture video, but have yet to try and insert a video into the game. Also used the Windows editor to ... well... edit things (and convert to different file type, FRAPS make huge file sizes for longer videos). A couple good things about FRAPS is that once you buy it, its yours. Free to redownload again if you need to (just remember account info). Also, when you have it turned on (recording or not as you can toggle that on/off), it tells you the screen frame rate which can be helpful in seeing where your module might be lagging a bit.

I didn't do any editing except possibly chop a second or two off at the beginning or end of the video. I timed the slide transitions in powerpoint so they would transition when I wanted. In a few takes, I had something I was happy with.

Thanks, I will purchase Fraps I think. Camtasia looks like it has everything but at £250 I think I will stick to the free download :)

It's a learning curve I know but this sucks up more time than anything i have done on my mod to date. I spent a very long time trying, and Failing, to get a camera to track for me last night ....
