This is a moot argument. We KNOW there will be at least one ending where Shepard lives, due to how the NG + is going to work.

Depends on how you look at it: Obi-Wan (main hero of eps 1-3) dies in episode 4. If one would prefer Anakin as 'hero', we all know how this one goes...The Big Bad Wolf wrote...
But most of the popular stories the main character lives.
Star Wars
Kirk dies in Star Trek: Generations, Benjamin Sisko is euh well sort of dead at the end of DS9, since he transcended or something in his Emissary role.Star Trek

plenty of stories end with the hero dying in videogames, classical literature and movies
Vanilla Fallout 3
You mean Alien 3?Aliens
Mythology tends to be a little more tragic and overloaded with hero's deaths as opposed to the happy endings we all get used to in previous century's Hollywood movies. And I thought Merlin was the hero in the King Arthur sagaHercules dies for pissing off his wife
Achilles dies
Odisseus is killed by his son and so is King Arthur

I didn't hear how it worked, or know how it worked in ME2, I always reached level 30 before the end and started new games for diffrent imports with diffrent names to keep them straight. If you died at the end of ME2 couldn't you do NG+, I know you can't import that to ME3 but I fiqure NG+ worked diffrent. Also how is NG+ going to work for ME3?

Or Shepard could go on a journey looking for the Exile and Revan, maybe running into the Warden and Hawke along the way..
