I mute the sound when Shepard says that.

In that case you didn't understand the conversation. Sovereign was saying that reapers are on a higher realm of existence, that they are above organic life. This implies that they are sort of deities, and he specifically states that extermination at their hands isn't something we can fight, it's like part of the circle of life, inevitable. To which Shepard's reply makes perfect sense, saying that they aren't gods, and they aren't above us. They can be broken, so they can be fought, killed and defeated.

I hope you kidding, man. Youn think that I think they are Gods and cannot be "broken" or something? It's not about if it can be done or not, it's just this line sounds ridiculous.

the only moment in mass effect I can think of that makes no sense to me is when you're on board the collector ship and your squad mates are all like "they're going to target Earth". that doesn't fit the collector's profile at all and even though there ship is powerful it could still be taken out quite easily if of the ship after Earth makes no sense in the narrative.

I honestly prefered the interaction prior to the sex to ME1 (well for Garrus, Tali, and Jack... not so much for the other three... especially Jacob... that one was cringe worthy). But everything else, the music, the way it's shot, the post sex stuff (non existant in the second game I know) was so much better in the first.RAF1940 wrote...
ME2 romance scenes. They sucked.

It's not about what you think, it's about what was implied by Sovereign. If you interpret it out of context it will sound strange, but given the entire speech it's reasonable.
I do not see it as stupid BS at all and IMO it was quite good the plot was way better than that.J-Sheridan wrote...

I guess I'm among the few that liked Arrival and the way it was done.
My threshold for stupid BS isnt that high and definetly not in such concentrations as Arrival managed to create.
LOTSB had issues that seriously annoyed me but for the most part it managed to off-set that with a decent length and content effort. Arrival should have been so much more than what BW decided to push out rather than a pathetic money grab designed to plaster over stupidity in ME2 and shoehorn ME3 plot in.
The plot of Arrival is as follows:
Hackett: Go to the system and find out whats going on
Kenson X: Ha we are indoctrinated and the Reapers are coming !!!!!
Shepard: I will stop you no matter the cost !
Kenson: You stopped the Reapers, Argh !
Harbinger: We are coming, Prepare to die
Shepard: Your just a machine... and we will break you cause humans are like, totally awesome...
Hackett: You did the right thing but your totally gonna get burned for it. Tough luck
Shepard: Yup, the Reapers are coming and we have to be ready and sacrifice me for the greater good
Hackett: Good boy, I gotta go cause your still the enemy, bye.
Saturate the inbetween bits with lots of fighting the same enemies over and over - YAY DLC... that will be $20 please, have a nice day.

2. Right before the Normandy crew is taken by the Collectors. Why did Shepard's team all get in the shuttle?
What ever next location you were going to; Shepard needed to use the shuttle to get to his next location so EDI and Joker can fix the IFF.

Which I guess is why you are amoung the few that think so, right ?
A good story has the characters drive the plot with their character.
A bad story has the characters driven by the plot even when it is AGAINST logic, common sense and the character
Arrival managed to do all three by reducing the entire cast to morons for it to work. Yeah, thats TOTALLY a good plot that in the end achieves NOTHING but inform the player the Reapers are coming (Really ?. Didnt know that thanks), Shepard is going to get busted (Cause I got forced into committing mass murder) and your no better off than you started (Yay, I'm still an outcast and noone believes me)
