Shepard just stands there and takes it like if he wasn't some big damn hero who doesn't take **** from anyone. I always pull my hairs off in that scene at Shepard's ineptitude at defending himself.

Here's mine....

"Dea-, I was dead! Are you serious right now!? I save your life and now you give me ****? I should feed you to some Husks right now you ungrateful good for nothing Human!"

Any of the dialogue options other then the one highlighted would do quite well for me.

Otherwise the scene didn't actually anger me enough to justify any name calling or lashing out, only sadness that this scene was literally all I got as an Ashley fan. I might not feel entitled to much, but I thought I deserved something less awful then this.

Ash: Cerberus? Shepard you saw the things that they did! How can you even think about working with those terrorists?

Shepard: I don't like it either, Ash. I remember those experiments we saw Cerberus performing. But for right now they're the only ones opposing the Collectors and preparing for the Reapers. I fully expect them to betray me at some point. That's why I need people like you with me. People I can trust to have my back.

Miranda: Hello? Cerberus operative! Standing right here!

Ash: I'm sorry Shepard. I know you think you're doing the right thing here. But I can't follow you this time. I'm still an Alliance soldier, with duties and obligations I can't just put aside. I have to report this to Anderson. I'll tell him what I saw here. And what you said about the Collectors. Maybe he can get something done on a higher level. In the meantime... be careful... You know what the road to Hell is

Sorry, she's a bit hothead. I doubt you can pull somethig sensible from person whose first thought after finding out she was... sleeping... for two years was "Oh dear how _he_ dealt with it? Please tell me no permanent damage was done!" and then charged all thу way through Horizon thinking she's already late.

Shepard: Ash I've been in a coma for the last two years and only woke up a week ago. I got word that the Collectors hit Freedom's Progress but I didn't get there in time to help. The very first thing I did after that was to go to the Citadel to speak to Anderson to try to find you.

Anderson told me that you were on a mission and I guess he couldn't risk sending you a message that might be intercepted by Cerberus.

Ash: Cerberus ... why would Anderson be especially worried about Cerberus?? I've heard rumors ...


Shep: [Sigh] I was being held in a Cerberus facility while I was recovering from the coma. When I recovered they asked me to look into why human colonies were disappearing.


Ash: Shepard how could you work for Cerberus? You've seen what they do. You've seen ...


Shep: [Paragon interrupt] I know but you can see that I'm working with Garrus and Dr. Solus. If Cerberus were calling the shots neither of them would be here. I hope that you consider this as proof that I'm only using Cerberus funds to help stop the disappearances. Cerberus is working for me ... I'm not working for them.


Ash: I don't know Shepard. I know you and I trust you but I'll never trust Cerberus.


Shep: I don't trust them either. Ash come with me. I need as many people as I can get that I trust to watch my back [looks at Garrus] as I can get. We both know Cerberus will double cross me eventually -- I need you there to make sure that when that day gets here that we can all walk out alive.


Ash: I can't do that Shepard. I only started putting my life back together and then you show up again. I need time to think about things. I'm Alliance to the core and you can't ask me to leave that. If you give me the information you have on the Collectors I'll make sure it gets reported to the Alliance.


Shep: Anderson already has everything. I'll get you a copy of everything so you can look over it yourself.


Ash: <spouts random poetry>


Shep: I know this is a shock and too soon .. but let me know when you're ready to talk. Please remember that to me we were on board the Normandy just last week so ... well I hope you understand the way I still feel about you.

The problem with having "I missed you" as a dialog choice is: It hasn't been 2 years for Shepard. It's been 2 years for Ash and for the player, but for Shepard it's been maybe a week for all we know. Now he might still have missed her for that week, but those words sound hollow and cheap when you think of how long Ash has been without Shepard.

This thread has been done plenty of times, and this is in the wrong forum, it's not ME3 related.

The only thing wrong with Shepard on Horizon wasn't not sticking up for himself, it was not being able to explain himself without sounding like a ****. He can tell everyone else he hates Cerberus, but to the VS he sounds like there god damn mascot! This is the guy who's supposed to be leading every race in the fight against the Reapers, how the heck can he do that if he cant even speak to his friend/ lover/squadmate?

Anyway Horizon sucked, I just want to see what Bioware have done for ME3 now.

To be honest, I think coming into conflict with one of your old friends was necessary to sever old connections and drive home just how different everything is from "the good old days." However, if I could have said one thing, it would have been this:

"I'm sorry, Ash. I'll miss you."

There's a problem with this dialogue wheel. Manshep doesn't ravage Ash, Ash ravages Manshep.

That's what bothered me too, If I would have spoken the conversation would've been rather different, perhaps not the outcome, but Shepard can express himself a lot better than he did.

I would have said something like: ''I still have the galaxy's best interest at heart, I care for all of our lives...I care for you, so, please... take care, Ash/Kai."
