And besides Hackett gave Liara Shepard's tags to give back to Shepard.  She says this in the cabin scene of LotSB.

Aha! Yes. Liara was instructed to give those tags back to Shepard! Which Liara dutifully followed through with...!

...if you played nice with her and agreed to share drinks with her. If you told Liara that it wasn't a good idea, that you'd rather not have drinks with her (and possibly give her the wrong idea there, just saying) then Liara doesn't seem to care what Hackett asked her to do. She keeps those tags for herself, just like the piece of Shepard's armour in her apartment.

Point made....If you notice also, when Shep first meets up with Liara again, she looks down at what later turns out to be Shep's tags....shouldn't she have handed them over at that point.

If there was an option to have her die a "Hellraiser" death by hooks I'd take it so fast i'd break the "light barrier".

The tags are not on her desk until the DLC.  They are not on her desk in the Illium cameo.  I've looked.

She still might've handed them over to Shepard even if Shepard declined her offer for drinks. There's even a "deliveries" box on the Shadow Broker base she might've slipped them in!

She gives them a quick glance, then their gone.

EDIT: Just rechecked...my sincere apologies ladyvader...Yes, they don't show up on her desk until the DLC....though they still should have been handed to Shep there and then.

Why do people care about whether you can kill a squadmate or not don't you want to keep everyone on your crew alive?

I mean to go out of your way to purposely kill a crew member just because you couldn't kill them before is a little creepy.

Why are you going to import your ME1+2 savegames? You could start a default ME3 game.
Maybe because you want to see how your decisions will change ME3?

Why do people wait for the Arrival countdown, why do people kill Commander Shepard?
Because we love to see "what if...." scenarios. I do.

So I will not import a playthrough where everyone survives, In my two playthroughs one characters dies.
I love the tragic moment and I want to see what happens in ME3.

Tired of Volus plot armor, I should be able to nuke every single one of those bastards with M-920 Cain.

Due to the Shadowbroker job I got the feeling that Liara will be too important to the plot to die. Fine by me.

The characters I like are awesome and they should all live and get medals.

The characters you like are retarded and they should all die and get posthumous medals... for outstanding sucktitude.

I don't hate Liara...never have...the BW favortism does wear thin after awhile though.....In ME1 I thought she was quite sweet...ME2, I was diasappointed she and VS got so little time...LotSB came out, I thought Awesome!...No VS DLC?...Oh, okay...wondered why not and felt that was a pretty rough deal....(Not LI related, my Shep hasn't romanced any of them)....Then the news starting leaking out about ME3, once again Liara is up in the limelight again...I have had enough.

It was predictable. Certain characters will always get more screen time than others. Also, BioWare simply decreed the whole Shadow Broker thing would have an effect on ME3 and so had to be resolved. A VS DLC would also have conflicted with the story. While Shepard is working with Cerberus, the VS won't have anything to do with him. The only way to have gotten a proper VS dlc was if Shepard left Cerberus during ME2. Since that didn't happen, no VS dlc. Their situation will be resolved in ME3, while Liara's has been resolved already. And since both of them are (from how it looks now) permanent squad members in ME3, I fail to see the real problem.

Joining the (no permanents) squad rotation would be the better deal....a better balance.

I contribute that one to game mechanics. Rotating squadmembers is much easier if you always have a wide core team available (Liara/kaidan - biotics. Tali/garrus/kaidan - tech. Ashley/james/garrus - combat).

I think the "problem" is that a lot of Virmire Survivor fans (like myself) are worried that Ashley and Kaidan won't get a lot of screentime or attention in ME3 simply because they have to replace one another. They shared animations and dialogue in ME2, and have kind of morphed into a weird "Ashdan Willenko" hybrid that doesn't do justice to either character. But Liara is garunteed to be a squadmate in ME3 no matter what choices Shepard has made, so it's reasonable to assume that the story is going to use her a lot in ME3, even though she's already been given a lot of attention, plot points, and character development.

Furthermore, Virmire Survivor fans have been around just as long as Liara fans. We were hit just as hard as Liara fans were by the cold attitude of our forever lover. And yet, we never got a proper resolution to that issue. Liara fans have been reward for their faith and it's highly likely that they'll continue to be rewarded (if Liara's presense in all of the ME3 demos is any indication) while Virmire Survivor fans can only cross their fingers and pray that Ash and Kaidan will get proper treatment.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that there's a very real fear for Virmire Survivor fans that Ash and Kaidan won't be "permanent" squad members, that he or she will disappear in the middle of the game like Carver and Bethany did in DA2. But Liara? She'll probably be in the entire game, because her plot armour has garunteed her a spot in ME3.

Both Tali and Garrus can die, though. Rather easily, in fact. :?

And yet we see Garrus in every ME3 demo. The only difference is that he wasn't sidelined in Mass Effect 2.

That Liara has again joined Shepards goon squad indicates strongly to me that something has changed.  I mean if the SB not attending his contacts for the duration of the fight between him & Liara/Shepard is long enough to stir up a tizzy, how could Liara possibly have time to wander the galaxy killing stuff with Shepard?  Not to mention Feron also hints that the job is quite a load and Liara is working day and night (figuratively speaking) to keep up.  Maybe the Base has been destroyed, or Liara's expertise is somehow needed (thus leaving Feron to handle things as best he can), but Liara isn't really the SB if she is staying aboard the Normandy (and has time to go on missions).

Anyways I suppose I'm kinda off-topic.  Even if I like Liara, anti-Liara threads can be good for a laugh.  The thought that Liara didn't give Shepards corpse to Cerberus without demanding that he/she be made to like her (explaining the forced friendship) was rather humorous when I first read it.

True, and I do think that Garrus, if alive, will have a big role in ME3. But the simple truth is that Garrus' presence in ME3 isn't garunteed the way Liara's is, and I think that Bioware will be very much aware of that. They've made no secret of the fact that they'r e"a company" with "finite resources" and that they have to make the most out of everything they have.... Which means downsized roles (aka: cameos) for the "possibly deceased" characters, and bigger, grander roles for those garunteed to be there, like Liara and James Vega.

Oh, I do hope thats not the case...what I very much appreciate about ME2 has been the ability to choose a squad I have the best combat synergy with...I suck with Biotics and CQC's on my team...:(
