Archers can be talent spammers if you're holding off on using Sustainables. The way I played my archer before I started using more sustainables was:
1. Pinning Shot
2. Crippling Shot
3. Shattering Shot
4. Critical Shot
5. Activate Rapid Shot and pelt them with attacks for a while
If you want your archer to be an autoattack artist instead (like dual weilders) then it's much simpler:
1. Make Sure You're Using a Rapid Aim Bow
2. Activate Suppressing Fire
3. Fire off the occasional stacking crippling shot to further weaken a tough target
4. (Awakening) Use your Spirit Warrior Sustainables to let off those arrows a lot more often (and get the added benefits of defensive bonuses and the fact that your arrows will completely penetrate armor)
For Equips here's my recommendation:
Armor- Wade's Superior Drakeskin Leather Armor Set
Weapon - Sorrows of Arlathan
Missile - Arrows of Andraste or any Elemental Arrow
Rings- Dawn and Dusk Set
Amulet - High Regard of House Dace or Spellward
Belt - Andruil's Blessing
If you're a Rogue archer then your party should have a single mage (spirit healer) an Allistar or Shale tank, and if you get Mechanical Expertise then don't bother using Leliana, just choose another damage dealer (dog'll do)

It can be played either way, though I think auto-attacking with the highest possible crit rate is certainly the more efficient route. Check out this article, it has a ton of great info on the subject of playing an auto-crit archer:
http://dragonage.wik...icient_Approach
Basically, you want to use equipment, sustains and a little exploit which lets you multiply the effects of said sustains to max out your crit rate while still having the fastest possible attack speed. This gives your archer pretty insane DPS.
What armor and weapon is best for me to use?
First off, what DLC do you have? A lot of the best items are DLC-exclusive, so it matters quite a bit which ones you have. I'll start off assuming you have it all, and I'll also respond to the above poster's suggestions here, as I disagree with some of them:
Armor- Wade's Superior Drakeskin Leather Armor Set
The Drakeskin chestpiece only gives +2 Dex, while The Felon's Coat gives +6 in addition to a bunch of other junk. The Felon's Coat alone gives more Dex and Def than the whole set of Wade's Drakeskin armor pieces, so I'd recommend The Felon's Coat. Battledress of the Provocateur is a good choice until The Felon's Coat is available.
The Drakeskin boots only give +1 Dex. Silverhammer's Tackmasters give +2, so I'd recommend those instead. Cadash Stompers are another good choice--they also give +2 Dex in addition to some other stuff, but they also increase threat generation, which might be undesirable for an archer.
If you're on a console, I would use the Repeater Gloves as it's the only way to sustain Aim mode while still retaining the fastest possible attack speed. Aim gives a crapload of offensive boosts, most notably doubling your crit rate, so being able to sustain it with no attack speed penalty way outstrips the benefits you stand to gain from any other pair of gloves. If you're playing on PC, you can use Shale's Rock Mastery aura to achieve the same effect, so Red Jenny Seekers or Wade's Drakeskin are good choices.
For a helmet, either The Long Sight or Helm of Honnleath.
Rings- Dawn and Dusk Set
The Dawn Ring comes too late in the game to be worth consideration and the Dusk Ring only gives +3 to damage-increasing attributes, while other rings can give +4. I'd use Ring of the Warrior or Harvest Festival Ring along with Key to the City.
Amulet - Spellward
Belt - High Regard of House Dace or Andruil's Blessing
The High Regard of House Dace is an amulet, not a belt, and that being the case I'd suggest you use it over the Spellward.
What should my party be made up off if i paly Archer?
If you're playing on PC, Shale's Rock Mastery aura is too good to pass up. If you're on console, sadly it's bugged and basically useless, in which case your party make-up doesn't matter much. I'd make sure you have a Bard who invests almost purely in Cunning for Song of Courage (this can, of course, simply be your main character), but other than that, pretty much anything works.

I mention the Drakeskin for the 50% fire resistence which comes in handy in so many places in the game that it's funny. Felon's coat can be useful but I always found my light armor characters surviving through Origins with Wade's Armor a lot easier.
For helmet I recommend the Ancient Elven Helm, the spirit resistence comes in handy during the final battle with the archdemon.

damn't I always mix which one the high regard is -.-

I sort of enjoy the archery mode of combat. Archery has its pros and cons, without doubt, but it is still good fun to play an archer Warden.
Archers are talent spammers, but it is also possible to build them so their critical chance on non-talent-based shots is very high. Which is a good thing, I suppose, because archers often seem to run out of stamina.
Archers are built (initially, at least) around dexterity, so look for armor that adds that sort of bonus. But some strength is required to equip armor, so maybe 20 strength might be a worthwhile target to aim for (pun alert).
The Dalish origin sort of goes well with an archer Warden...which might hint at where good bows and armor can be found early in the game. Better stuff becomes available later in the game.
Archers generally are thought of as support, not frontline warrriors. So the team will have to supply what the archer lacks.

Really? Where at? There's the two obvious big dragon fights, but aside from that, I don't see where it's an issue, and those two are just that, only two fights, you can simply save some Greater Warmth Balms for them (not to mention that your tank's positioning can and should angle the dragons away from your support characters, so that they don't get hit by dragon breath anyways).
Meanwhile, The Felon's Coat grants +13 defense and +4 armor over Wade's, meaning that it's much better for helping your archer survive against generic physical attacks (i.e. overwhelmingly the most common type of attack you'll be facing).
For helmet I recommend the Ancient Elven Helm, the spirit resistence comes in handy during the final battle with the archdemon.
I disagree with having this helm around for one fight to get a paltry +25% resistance at the cost of the superior stat bonuses provided by the other options; just using a Lesser Spirit Balm would get you more spirit resistance than that without requiring you to un-equip Helm of Honnleath/Long Sight. To each his own, though.

For some reason on Normal difficulty and above, all the mage enemies in the game seem to love spouting off fireballs. It's not too much of a problem until you start getting groups of 2-3 mages, that''s why I recommend the drakeskin. If you have other items or anything else that boosts fire resistence for these encounters then that's fine but for me who never bothers putting in CON for anything but a blood mage...it's not pretty without that fire resistence.
