Yes, we are still supporting Dragon Age II.

Recently, we have had both a story based DLC (Legacy) and Item Pack #2 (Weapons & armor). We also had 2 panels, one at Gamescom and one at PAX, where we discussed how BioWare was still supporting Dragon Age II, listenign to fans and how we have more DLC and content on the way. And not just more weapons packs, but more story based content.

Now, what is it, when it will appear, what, if anything, will happen after the next one, etc etc etc I can't talk about yet. Mike Laidlaw and the DA team gave some hints during the PAX panel, but beyond that I'm restricted in what I can say. I can say it is more story based content. It again takes the feedback from fans (wanting more areas to explore, new areas, new monsters, etc) and applies it to upcoming content. When I can say more, I will as I know you all want more information.

Are we still supporting Dragon Age II? Absolutely.

This is good news, but what about patches to fix some issues that still remain such as import errors?

Patching is still possible. Patching is always done based on (not in any particular order):
  • what issues are being encountered
  • how many poeple are encountering them
  • how critical are they to the playing of the game
So, for made up example, a DLC comes out and there is a blocking bug that prevents all mages from finishing. This would get fixed. But if the bug was that X sword only did 10 damage instead of the 15 it was supposed to do, this likely would not.

Currently, the team is not working on patching, but they could patch again in teh future is needs warrant.

How about high-res textures for promo weapons, Item Pack #1 and The Hawke's Key?

I am sad now. Very sad. You folk used to be patch/support juggernauts.

January 2008 was a heartbreaking month indeed.

Considering all the bugs and balance issues introduced in the latest patch, that's disappointing.

The latest patch only introduced one bug, and balance issues are subjective.

Sunder, upgraded Silence.  Constant problems with things not dieing.

I think the Ancient Rock Wraith pretty much never fighting back is a bad thing.  But perhaps that's subjective

What upgraded Silence?

Things not dying was an issue before the patch.

I just finished the Deep Roads, and the ARW fought back against me.

Does this mean that there is a huge chance that the import bugs won't be fixed Image IPB

The immortal bug has been present since the game shipped. It is just much worse now.

If Sunder ever gets patched I hope they fix to the death upgrade too. IF I taunt with it I want it to do what it says. I have seen a few posts taling about a boss not fighting back. (Legacy) I do not know what causes this and have not encountered it thankfully.

They have already said they can't go back to fix those as they are DAO/Awakening/dlc issues.

The import bugs are mostly Origins' fault, which means they would have to patch DAO to fix them and that's not likely to happen.

That was a bug before the patch.

[*]I know i is origin's fault, but I just want some kind of solution to it. I don't really care what. A genesis novel like Mass Effect, something... anything.

Sorry, got that wrong.  Righteous Strike is what I was thinking of - it seems to interrupt every action the enemy makes, meaning that they just stand there while you trounce them.

Things not dying was an issue before the patch.

Well, it wasn't for me.  Now it's ubiquitous

I just finished the Deep Roads, and the ARW fought back against me.

Well, you weren't doing enough damage then.  In my experience it doesn't, except for a couple of blows right at the start of the game.  The problem is it's not got enough hit points any more, so by the time it's got up from it's sitting in the middle of the battlefield phase it's taken too much damage and goes back straight to it.

I got the game release day. First game...got to the end...*something* would not die. I PM'ed a dev as it was a spoiler and I didn't want to put that in the tech forums. It is called the immortal bug. Rare bug. (Back then). I could not finish the game. The same *thing* would not die even if I restarted before last straw. My very first game/character had to be deleted. Horrible thing to happen.

You want a crappy comic that pissess on everything and destorys the characters?

Patching multiple SKUs, PC and consoles, is by far harder and requires more coordination then back when we only made PC games. We are still concerned about patching and our team is still directly talking with fans submitting us saved games to help us track bugs.

When I said we are not currently working on a patch, I meant we do not have one scheduled to release. The team is still investigating issues and working on fixes, I meant that we do not have one scheduled to be released in the short term.

I think I have the support behind me to say the Fenris romance dialogue bug in Legacy is immensely important. :3

I had the harvester not fight back either. Apparently this has been reported for lots of bosses. I would guess the sweeping change to force effects may be the culprit.

[*]To be fair I don't know how good or bad mass effect's genesis is. I only played mass effect once and have not bothered with any dlc. But since they have said that they are not going to go back and fix origins I want some kind of save generator or something that can say I chose that and that and that for my warden.

I share your sentiment.

I am rather frustrated by the fact that these kind of savegame import bugs will always be considered less important than almost all other types of bugs.

Oh, BTW "Genesis" doesn't help one bit with the transfer problems from ME1 to ME2. I think the fact that even in the case of a franchise with such an emphasis on main character transfer (Mass Effect) the bugs will not get fixed shows how slim the chances are for DA.

Oh well.

*is a sad panda now* :crying:
