*shrug*

One failed game from Bioware is not the doom of all things. DA3 will be different. Expect accordingly and you'll be fine.

I object to the idea of anyone kidnapping me.

Hmm. Unless the unmarked van is also full of a pile of money. Then, I... wait, no. I take it back. Kidnapping bad. Stop confusing me.

Seeing the subject raised I must admit I harbour a guilty desire to see what an open world (Beth style) Dragon Age game would be like, scribed by the DA team of course.

But that's more because I love the IP and would happily play through games of almost any genre in the setting. Hell get someone to make a DA RTS and I'm there as well.

Now that right there reeks of epicness. One hell of a vision that guy Todd Howard has, a great gem to the genre (imho).<3

Wouldn't it bother you that your story would take the backseat to sandbox features. I mean people tend to ignore the story in those types of games and --

Did you say van full of money? Well that changes everything. Might I suggest a gladiator contest instead?

With everything Bioware has been saying, the direction that DA2 took is the way they will continue to go:  Streamlining, dumbing down, less content, less choices, etc...

Bioware has been stating the exact opposite of each of those things, so you clearly haven't been listening at all and are simply spouting off based on nothing but your own anger and cynicism.

Ah ok....

So they said we get races again?

We get to outfit our companions in any armor we want at any time?

We get to talk to our companions at any time?

We will have more plausible combat back rather then anime rediculousness (enemies exploding when stabbed)?

Silent protagonist?

Warriors will be able to dual wield and use bows?

Rogues can use swords?

I stand corrected.

I missed the part where EA said they were going back to how DAO was done.

they can do what they want i'm just playing DAO over and over
and burn DA2
if only they'd given DA O a decent closure on the storyline then i wouldnt mind what they do with the franchise
but an open ending with no sequel ???????????????????? lost me there
lucky ffor me they cant alter DAO anymore and i'll be playing it with my imagination set to wichever ending i want to give it who needs a story from some writer if u can make one up urself
in my game morrigan is the hero and hawk can eat my shorts
and thats that.No more DA3 whatsyougonnabringus this is just plain awfull storytelling and i wouldnt trust em to feed my cat even if i dont have one cuz thats the kinda useless nonsense they been selling us play 60 hrs make choices so u can finaly import ur choices u made to find they don't matter at all cuz the story is completely disconected from the OG one
in other words no :)
throwing together some ingredients for cornbread doens't make a cake come out of the oven i guess

No need to fear, I got your back. They can't blackmail me so easily.

Well, unless that van was filled with ice cream. And snow cones. And Dr Pepper....wait, what was I talking about?

Dont worry Bioware will just get a bunch of Canadian hockey players and say they work as programmers, Then Bioware will win the rights to the elder scrolls games, they will then challenge CD Project Red for the witcher franchise and have all the games in one package.

Sometimes less is more...and sometimes it is not.

We are doing poorly on more...but great on less.

191 toggles were requested for DA2. So far only 1 for DA3.

Do I trust Bioware to create more than 1 toggle for DA3. Yes.

Interesting.  Not only do you try to put words in my mouth, but you clearly are trying to over exagerate the point.

Dumbing down is making a game simpler to appeal to a greater audience because their is no faith they will grasp the game, or worse, they complained there is "too much reading" or "the game is too hard".

So rather then these people rising to the occasion of the game, they get the game made simple for them.

That is dumbing down, and DA2 is hardly exlusive in being guilty of doing this.  It's just the glaring example because these boards are for discussing DA2.

As to the quote of mine you took above, it revolves around more choices, options and possibilities.  If you find these things confusing, and and feel that removing them is dumbing down the game, then sorry but yes that is my opinion as well as the opinion of those who did not buy DA2.

More choices offer the greatest appeal to gamers.  A set protagonist with set abilities is boring.  I find it boring, nor intellectually stimulating nor challenging and so do the hundreds of thousands of people who did not buy DA2.

@Davasar yet again your assumption is purely that an assumption your assuming that everyone who did not buy DA2 did so because of what you call the dumbing down where as it is just as likely that people who didnt buy DA2 decided to not buy it because of a negative experiance with DAO and assumed that DA2 would be exactly the same games like DAO may well be "great" and "thrilling" for gamers such as yourself its also the sort of game that puts many people off an RPG.

Ok so you were dissatisfied with DA2 and you have doubts that DA3 will resort entirely to your much beloved DAO formula, the DA franchise is a series of games not your own flesh and blood, or a dog you have willingly raised from a cute fluffy little furball thats just been run over by an 18 wheeler, just stand up be a man, take it on the chin for what it is and move on rather than driving everyone nuts with month after month of OTT dramaqueenieness BTW its not an insult before the chip on your shoulder becomes a canyon merely an observation that you are one of many who is taking the whole thing waaaay tooo seriously man chill out before you have a heart attack and also for everyone elses sanity man

You are telling me to chill out?

Look at what you posted.  It's a lengthy ramble that makes little sense.  But since it seems to be all the rage these days...

As to something you pointed out:  You are correct.  I have resolved that EA will not allow Bioware to make good, quality games anymore, and that further inferior productions will be the result of these new fans they want to capture that can only be described as drooling, down syndrome victims with little idea of what makes a good game and will take any tripe spoon fed to them as long as they are told 'it's good'.

Sorry, parachuting enemies are not good.  Nor is having less features.  And all the other horrible things included in the game that have been gone over a million times on these forums that are massively disliked....these things are not good and I won't accept them as you would have me do.

You are essentially telling me to accept an inferior product.  I won't.  Many of us won't.  The sales reflected that.

If Bioware wants those sales back, they'll make the kind of game that was successful.  Not the flop that DA2 was.

Take your own advice and 'stand up and be a man':  DA2 was an inferior product.  Get over it.

Do we have a choice? Image IPB

They are the same people who made DA:O, so yeah, they have it in them. I still think that DA2 was purely a matter of slim schedule. Time is probably the most cost intensive factor in the gaming industry. But to make a really good RPG you need time.

People who like DA2 are retarded, very mature.

[/quote] You have no idea what the sales numbers reflect, saying that you do is dishonest.

I agree, however that doesn't make it an objective fact.

An objective fact though is that there was less content. Less playtime, less replayability.
