Physical disc version 1.03

System Details
Processor:  Intel Core 2 Quad CPU  Q9400 @ 2.66 GHz
    Clock Speed:  2662 MHz
    Physical Memory:  5.99 GB
Display Adapter:  Nvidia GeForce GTX 465 x2
        VRAM: 1.00 GB
        Driver Version:  280.26
    Sound Adaper: Creative USB Headset
         Driver Version:  6.1.7601.17514
Operating System: MS Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601)
DirectX Version:  DirectX 11 (June2010) or later

My entire game has pretty much decided to go south.  Here are the problems that are occurring.

1. Quicksaves and autosaves not working correctly.

When I quicksave, or the game saves for me, the save animation doesn't go away for about 5 minutes, and when it does finally stop, the save never actually worked.  When I hit escape during this, both the Load and the Save are greyed out.

2.  Loading a new area now takes around 5 to 10 minutes

Just what it says.  It's now taking forever to load into a new area, and I think it has something to do with the save issue I'm having.  It's like the game is caught in an endless loop.  It won't load until it's finished "saving" but the save won't end, so it won't load.

3.  Whole screen getting knocked off center when it finally loads.

My full-screen mode keeps turning off for no apparent reason.  Then it crashes.

4.  After it crashes I can't start the game up again for about 10 minutes.

My task manager says it's running, but it's not.

5.  After I finally get the launcher to work again, it crashes on the opening dragon swooping scene.

Then I have to reboot my computer or it just keeps happening over, and over, and over...

This seems to be a never ending cycle.  It starts with the saves and loads and goes downhill from there.  I've reinstalled the game 3 times now.  It happens no matter where I am in the game, no matter what character I'm on.

I've rolled back my drivers, no change, so I just put them back to the new version.

I first started having problems when I downloaded the most recent item pack a little over a week ago, but when I reinstalled the game this last time, I didn't install that particular DLC and the issue was still occuring, so it's not that.  As I said before, I rolled back my video drivers because that had changed, but that didn't help either.  There's been an awful lot of Windows updates lately, but I wouldn't have any idea if any of them were causing this issue.

If anyone is also having this problem I would greatly appreciate some help.  As it is, my game is currently unplayable.  :crying:

Have you installed anything new recently? Can you list any and all programs running in the background during play plus a list of recent windows updates? The latter should be available in an easy to copy paste update log.

Can you try running the game on only one GPU as a test?

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back with you.

Yes, evidently there is a known issue with Intel quad cores and a .NET Framework security update MS did recently that's causing this issue.

My cores aren't threading properly, evidently.  Hopefully, MS will come out with a fix for this soon.

Dropping my game down to two cores is forcing it to work correctly.

Thanks for your help.:wizard:

Go ahead and lock this thread if you need to.
