No. Third person shooters are Ghost Recon ripoffs. You know the original one that came out around 2001 for PC. By the same token the early Rainbow 6 games like Rogue Spear also had cover.

There I think we can end the comparisons with Gears and Halo.

I never did the single player on insane in Gears. I always had someone on my friends list with me playing cannon fodder and watching the sides while I took out Raam. Never had to worry about Dom messing up my cover.

Gears was fun though. Bleak, but fun.

Have you seen his steroid pumped body build, he'd fit right into the gears universe.

You know who else have muscular bodies? Every single marine ever. Including Shepard.
Let's compare the two, shall we?

Vega:

Shepard:

I have yet to see anyone blame Shepard's muscles on the roids. It's really simple how it works.

If you're not fit, you're out.

Shepards muscle build is pretty normal, it's just muscular. Vega is over the top, his forearms are as big as Shepards biceps.

I always thought that Shep looked a bit skinny for a hardcore marine. That casual outfit has different geometry, makes him look uncharacteristically buff.

But associating games, no matter how pronounced, to character physiques isn't even stereotyping, it's... Just stupid. Is Vega SERIOSLY another reason to pit these two games together?

Yeah. Because having a muscular body apparently turns you into Cole Train by default.

Which is beyond stupid.

Gears specifically is a Kill Switch rip off though. That's if you want to call it a rip off. Personally I hate the term.

I wish FemShep's muscles were so big.

Come to think of it, Samantha in Gears of War 3 should have mucles.

Anyway, at the very least FemShep's arms should be at least as big as the female characters' arms in Gears 3.  Mass Effect's character models aren't so much bigger than those in Gears of War, so there's no excuse.

But Cole Train is awesome!  Who wouldn't want to be compared to him?  Vega should be so lucky.

Here's my opinion, not that anyone really cares.... lol. ... Vega looks shorter than Shepard. Shepard looks tall. There are short and strong people, and I've known them and worked out with them. They tend to build short bulky muscles (except for one guy who no matter what can't seem to bulk in the quads... nice glutes though), and none of them used roids. Then there are tall and strong, and these people sometimes build long muscles that are not bulky, yet they are strong and very fit. Basketball players fit in the latter category for the most part. So strength can be deceiving. The short muscles are great for a quick burst -- they're the sprinting type muscles. The long muscles are the endurance ones.

Vega looks like the shorter muscles for more immediate strength, but Shepard looks like he'd be able to go further without a rest.

I never played Kill Switch so Gears was all new to me.

I think that if you're playing as a soldier, the shooting gameplay is similar to Gears. There are worse comparisons that could be made. I think the gameplay is a little different if you're playing as an engineer or an adept.
