i recently bought mass effect 2 and i installed on my pc

processor : intel i7950
GPU          : nvidia GTX470
RAM          : 6 GB

but, the game freezes at the start. it freezes at the "press any key to continue" screen or at the main menu or at the scene where  miranda and the illusive man are talking about how to prevent shepard from dying.

the GTX470 uses the 260.89 graphics driver from nvidia

please help. i would really like to play this game. thank you

Have you applied the patch?
