Hello. I've bought Dragon Age: Origins quite a few years ago for my family and I to enjoy. We've downloaded it perfectly fine on three computers, then gave the CD a little "break" for those few years to play it. Now my daughter got a laptop and she wants to play it on there. However, the game is suddenly not allowing her to install it. I've seen quite a few threads on this specific topic on these forums, however I don't understand anything anyone's saying. I'm not a big tech person, I just want my daughter to be able to play this game without any weird hacker stuff. I can't seem to find anywhere on this website a way to download the game online without spending any more money since I still have the key for my Dragon Age: Origins Collector's Edition.

I don't know if this would help, but I screenshotted what my computer says to me after attempting to install. i998.photobucket.com/albums/af107/griffen3303/InstallationFailed.png

Help would be greatly appreciated in this.

The game has minimum requirements, which you seem to have forgotten:

The game will not install at all if your system does not pass certain checks. This is to protect your system. Attempting to run such a GPU and CPU intensive game on insufficient hardware can cause serious overheating which can permanently damage your hardware.

That just doesn't make any sense. My daughter's computer perfectly fine runs World of Warcraft and Dragon Age 2. I, myself, have an Asus laptop that is soley used for gaming purposes and, if I so wish, could run RIFT and World of Warcraft at the same time. The computer, I believe, is not the problem. The disk is not downloading on ANY computer, crappy, or fantastic.

The forum itself has well-established standards for requesting assistance.  We are gamers here.  If you want to get all excited about anything, you just take yourself away to EA's site and do whatever they will put up with there.  Here, we try to help, but it's summer, hardly anyone is here, and on top of that, it's Sunday, so fewer still are dropping in to answer, so using the archives, and taking full advantage of the pinned FAQs is the best you can do.

"Download" to me implies that you have a digital edition of the game.  As you have not specified, I cannot offer any solutions if your download manager is failing on all of your computers (which was not what you stated in your original post).  There are posting guidelines pinned to the top of this forum (READ FIRST) for a reason.  When you provide incomplete information, all we can do is guess at what the problem might be.

As for whether her laptop can run the game, WoW has far lower requirements than DAO in terms of hardware.  Many laptops that are marketed as "gaming" laptops, even by companies that generally make gaming computers, are often barely capable of running newer games if they can run them at all. Tom's Hardware recently ranked graphics cards, and as you can see, the mobile versions of most graphics cards are well below the minimum requirements for this game. If indeed the laptop is capable of running the game without cooking itself into oblivion, then there is an issue with your installer.  Until you provide the information requested in the read first thread, no one will be able to help you resolve that problem.
