is everyone putting them in order? e.g. if your friends list is anderson, hackett, thane (ala enayasoul abve), then you like anderson more than hackett more than thane?

I'll bite. My canon Shep - Kale Shepard, Colonist, Survivor. Paragade.

Simple stuff:
Trusted friends: Chakwas, Joker, Anderson, Space Hamster.
Close friends: Garrus, Samara, Wrex, Mordin.
Friends: Kasumi, Tali.
Colleagues: Thane, Jacob, Kelly, Kaidan.
Kale is wary of: Grunt, Legion, Zaeed, Miranda and Jack. Due to mental instability, split loyalties, hidden agendas or questionable morals.

And with those put into neat little stacks, here's the less easily explained bit:

Kale wouldn't involve herself in squad romance, it may compromise her authority and her mission, which she just wouldn't do. She has a particular dislike of politicians and dirty reporters and while she'd raise her voice against them it's unlikely she'd ever raise her fist.

Kale has never believed she's a hateful person, in Mass Effect 1 she treated the Reapers, and their pets, as a threat, an enemy to be dealt with. But since the SR-1 went up in Mass Effect 2, and she went with it, she's developed a burning hatred for all things Reaper related and has started to relish destroying everything they create. She'd probably sacrifice everything to wipe out every single one of the blighted Space Beetles.
