Don't care for it.  I was tired of anime by 1983, so I had my fill of it.  It's just not my cup of crack.  That said, I respect the art and the talent and Liara does lend herself well to the style. I'm certain Tali would be the same way.

Of course if they ever make a femShep in that style, someone's going to get hurt.

Why did you post almost exactly the same thing you did 7 hours ago?

I don't know about that. Re-L from Ergo Proxy puts off some pretty strong "FemShep" vibes, imo.

Oh my god, I haven't heard about Ergo Proxy in such a long time. Is it worth watching?

Depends on how interested you are in Japanese interpretations of Western existentialism.

Are we talking more traditional existentialism (simply the basic concepts) or Evangelion existentialism?

Yeah sorry I meant to say perverted or pervy. Sometimes it can get into that pedo area.

Like Evangelion off the deep-end existentialism. Although, personally I think it's more coherent than Eva. But it has been a while since I watched either.

I think that's what he's saying, in regards to japanese animation at least. I severely doubt even this troll would claim that normal porn is hentai, unless he wanted to go for the crazy claims route rather than the ignorant/intolerant route.

Shhhhhh I'm trying to trick him into basically comparing it to porn.

All right, I'll have to check it out.

Definitely not for me.

Maybe they can make the whole ME1 crew through DC figurines? And a FemShep also? That would be awesooome!

I don't mind anime. I'm not a super big fan of Liara, but probably would buy anything mass effect related to sit on my shelf.

But I won't buy this. There is stylization, and then there is 'looks nothing like the character it is intended to represent.' There's nothing wrong with making a woman sexy like a pinup- but this isn't how to do it. To be honest, it feels like a lack of respect for the franchise.

And to defend it simply on the grounds that it is 'anime style', is ridiculous. And only perpetuates the same misconceptions you're fighting against.

Now this is very reasonable. Also it seems you aren't in the right internet due to your violation of internet law by being a reasonable being for at least 1 second. You will be getting transferred to the right internet soon. Any resistance will be met with constant spam and viruses sent to your computer. Have a nice day. :police:

..??? I never said that I liked anime either. Just about every anime show out there has repressed hentai elements to it. And yes, that goes for cowboy bebop and samurai champloo.

I never said you liked Anime but earlier in the thread you stated that you only shown hate for Hentai and didn't mention Anime in General.

Also I actually on the verge of just stating you are trolling but give me an example of all this repressed Hentai in cowboy bebop and samurai champloo. Just humor me.

The japanese versions of these shows must have nudity, they always do. When I was younger, a friend of mine showed me an unedited version of sailor moon, and it had nudity in it with a seemingly provocative scene. Same went for dragonball z. What would make cowboy bebop or samurai champloo any different? I wouldn't be surprised if they actually had such scenes.

nudity =/= pornography.

I'm surprised I actually have to say that to a Mass Effect fan. Oh, the irony.

When I said provocative I meant that she was intimate in the shower with a main character guy. Of course it's no different than an ME scene, but it was still softcore at best.

So why use it as an example of repressed hentai when you just said its softcore?

It could be worse.

At least it isn't Anime Jack complete with pigtails and sailor school girl costume. I'm sure that would be defended as the artist's interpretation also, and any criticism aimed at it labelled culturally insensitive. Image IPB

Nice way to attempt to instigate another argument when mostly everyone in this thread doesn't like the figurine and only one person actually tried to defend the artist by saying its a specific artists interpretation.

That really is an ugly figurine. It's like it's not really Liara at all, but rather an anime artist's abstract impression of Liara placed atop a pair of boobs and long legs.

Leave it to the Japanese to take a sexual fantasy and make it even more sexual.

I hope the same company makes figurines of the new femshep and Zero Suit Ash.

I really think people are overacting.
