I would agree with laudable11's earlier assessment.Sgt Stryker wrote...
Come back after you've looked through the ME wiki's list of named asari characters, look at their professions, and see if your opinion has changed.

Under Trivia:
"As stated on page 21 of The Art of Mass Effect, the asari were created to fill the "green alien girls" motif, which was made popular by Star Trek: The Original Series."
"Blue Space Chicks" - The Asari have served their purpose in the series with distinction.

This is a bishojo figure. Literally 'beautiful girl.' Its suposed to be sexy. If it wasn't sexy it would fail utterly. They made her boobs big and her face is kinda wonky. They could have done MUCH MUCH worse. In fact I'm surprised how faithful the model is to the character.
But for an entire race of creatures made to cater to the 'sexy green alien lady' trope its hardly surprising they made a Bishojo statue. I dig it for what it is. And I'd totally buy it if I had the cash.
Well I guess the face of a 12 year old hairless girl pasted onto the body of a porn star is not my idea of beauty, in that case.

Or well, not exactly mine either. But that is pretty much exactly what Bishojo characters tend to look like. And really, they didn't change her that much. They just made her boobs much, much bigger.

Does that include Eclipse mercs, then?
I think the dancers and arm candy still outnumber the mercs. I could be wrong.

Just because it's an Anime style doesn't mean it's the only Anime Style, (or even a suitable anime style.)
Take this Motoko Kusanagi figurine for example. It's shows thats it's perfectly possible to have an bishoujo sculpt that doesn't sacrifice the subject's character for some hyper-sexualised ideal.

What is alarming to me is how little they changed Liara to make her Bishojo. She is literally in the same pose she is in the ME3 ads but they made her boobs bigger and her face more like every other face in their line. They didn't add cutouts in her clothing or pose her in a suggestive way.
They just made her boobs bigger.
Did you expect any less from a line of Bishojo figures?

Awesome. This should be Liara's new appearance in-game.

That's not just a child's face, it's
almost infantile. It's creepy, and disturbing, and while I'm usually
one of the first people to line up to fling money in BioWare's
direction, I'm not buying that. It's just flat out terrifying.
Seriously.
What face? Didn't see the face... Something wrong with it?

This.
She seriously looks like a mad scientist patched the head of a pre-teen onto the body of a stripper with a bad boob job.
Should sell well with the Merrill romance demographic though.

What's with dismissing her face and huge breasts with "It's Anime! That's the style!" ?

It's been a while since I saw GitS, but I don't recall her pants being so tight that they completely outline the crack of her butt. And yeah, the sculpture doesn't hyper-sexualize her...because she's typically hypersexualized in the anime she comes from.

I'm pretty sure BioWare is going to demand changes to the prototype after reading so many bad comments about some parts of her. (And they do ask for feedback!) And I totally agree. If the chest area and her face gets changed they might have me preorder it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Bioware has any say-so in the matter.
