kotobukiya also sells realistic looking figures. this is just their juvinile oversexualised anime line. which i think is innapropriate for a videogame series that prides itself on telling a mature en emotionaly involving story.

i wouldnt have had a problem with it if they made a liara figure for their ARTFX line. like they are doing with sheploo

Last comments I made in here was link a altered picture to see what like when painted, say "lol smileface" at someones comment and prior to that made internet joke not relating to Liara at all.

Sorry but he logged on and attacked me not the other way around. The racist thing he is talking about is something I said must be around 15+ hours ago relating to some of the earlier posts about culture etc where people were saying such things as Japanese all into loli and hentai and little girls with big breasts throwing around terms like pedos. I just don't think that personal attacks AND responding to personal attacks contributes to the topic, it will just further degenerate the discussion and the thread will experience and early death. Its not a matter of who's right and wrong, both of you should calm down and leave room for other people to express their opinions, now several pages are clogged up with your (plural) personal insults that have very little to do with the actual topic - thats kind of selfish.

I find it rather sad. If you think that anime is all there is of Japan, then that's just very very sad.
I don't like anime but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate their culture. I have other interests that doesn't revolve around anime. Your ignorance and obsession is an insult to these people.
So, if you're done raging and insulting me, you might want to get civil and think for more than a fraction of a second on the things you say and that not everyone has to agree with you.

If thats what mean to me it made sense that would be tight to give the optical illusion of light passing through. Though I suppose they could have borrowed Harry Potters cloak of invisability.

No, it's the ignorance in the fact that people assume Japan is filled with over-sexualized perverts, rapists and pedophiles that makes us angry. Sexualization of men and women in western shows has been around forever, but once that transitions to anime it is automatically labeled as perverted or weird. Is ME2 perverted because it zooms in on Samara's rack or Miranda's a**? No, it's simple fan-service and doesn't detract from the game. Anime can tell very mature and in-depth stories, most of the time even better than video games. I do not care if you do not like anime, but the people in this thread falsly and ignorantly basing their assumptions off 1 or 2 experiences makes me furious. Would you like people to judge the gaming industry off Halo, Call of Duty and World of Warcraft? I sure as hell wouldn't.

She also got pretty naked in the movie.

But that isn't the problem here. The problem is that this statue doesn't do the character justice. I mean, look at the Marvel line. The women's proportions aren't all that out of line with their drawn counterparts. Only the faces are changed. The problem with the Liara statue is that more than just the face is changed. The statue does not represent Liara's character, because with the face of a 13 year old and a pair of massive boobs, you tend to not be taken seriously, and Liara is supposed to be taken seriously, which Bioware seemed to have forgotten when they comissioned this statue. You can't take something (or someone, however virtual they are) that people respect and turn it into eye-candy without people getting upset.
