You know? I used to love it back in the late 80's - mid 90's, I also think that there are very good pieces of work until the early 2000's, but IMO from there onwards japanese entretaiment industry having been going down with no stop.
Mainly because they (Manga, anime and videogames) have become victims of the OVEREXAGERATION of their own cliches, singularities and diferential features.

I think the concept looks alright, but the face on that statue does look very young, and not very much like the concept at all. I also don't see why she's smushing her boobs together in the statue. 

But, at least she's fully clothed I guess.

That's J. Scott Campbell, though. A guy who draws cheesecake pretty much exclusively. There's a few people like him in the industry: Adam Hughes, Greg Horn, etc. And I'm sure this is true of the manga/anime industry as well, the difference being that 'fan service' isn't quite a wide spread, and considerably more tame, due to the fact that children still buy comics. Culturally, Japan is just different, in that regard.

When I volunteered in Japan, I sat down on the bullet train and a Japanese gentlemen sat so close to me, our shoulders were literally touching. And then he whips out a porn magazine and starts reading. Bear in mind, we're so close to each other... part of the magazine is literally sitting in my lap! It's just a different culture with a different attitude toward sexuality. Not saying it's bad or good, but if you accept the premise that America imposing its values on them is inconsiderate and wrong, then you - by default - have to accept the premise that imposing their view of sexuality on a western piece of entertainment is similarly misguided.

My main gripe is with how BioWare has overly sexualized its characters more recently, anyways. Mass Effect 1 had a bit more class about it. This video shows what I'm talking about a bit:

This statue never would have been commissioned by EA/BioWare had the company not shifted priorities to placate the lowest common denominator to begin with.

CaptainSpandex you know it is likely that figurine is pointed towards a different more anime preferred audience right?

Also ME2 can be considered more tame than ME1 when it comes to the sex scenes. Only a few characters were actually sexualized both men and women but in general it was never that tasteless. Miranda was the only one that was annoying about it since Bioware gave you close ups of her ass and they even gave her armor to satisfy your more practical needs.

Did you ignore the part of my post in which I said that few characters in ME are very sexualized? I would assume that you would understand who I was obviously mentioning.

Kelly wasn't the only person you see in a stripper outfit in Mass Effect series. You see them in both games. Also its rather tame compared to the nudity you see in ME1 which is at the same time rather tame compared to TV. 

Considering Shepard actually admits to wanting to do it right then and there pretty much says its not that one sided. Also it was like the fourth or fifth convo with her when we did that to be honest. Also by having sex with her then pretty much proves to her that everyone are ****s and doesn't care about the person unless they have something to offer. So having sex with her isn't the best idea.

Samara's outfit can easily be explained as traditional for the Justicar order. Plus Asari seem to not care too much about our own values on clothing lol.

No, she'll do so if you tell  her that's what you want her to do, and that behavior is actually appropriate for the character. She's convinced that people are all just users. If they're taking an interest in her, then they want something: sex, her biotic ability, etc. They couldn't possibly be interested in her for her, so, suspecting that it's sex in this situation, she confronts you. It's also not presented as some sort of reward.  You take her up on that offer, and she's basically done with you.
