Agreed. Figurine looks terrible. Like a child with huge melons for boobs. Liara is a scientist and information broker, an awkward but brave character. Not some oversexualized Charlie's Angel with a pistol.
No thanks.
It's manga inspired, what did you expect? ;D You just described about 80% of all manga/anime characters!

I demand more such merchandise for Mass Effect. Despite the clear issues Bioware had with DC Unlimited, I am very sad there won't be a series 2 of the collectible figurines.
As for you folks complaining about Liara's face. While I agree it doesn't look very..Liara like, your reasoning for not liking it doesn't make sense to me. Her face in ME1 was EXTREMELY juvenile.

I mean, maybe I'm one of the few guys who think this way, but... Big boobs =/= hot girl. If anything, it detracts from the hotness. Ah, well. Still better than anything I could make

How does it look good? It's not a ****ty action figure, it's not a badly written comic book, it's not a set of game cards and it looks like it had more than 20 minutes of time invested in it.
The only deal breaker for me is the face, and I'm not going to complain that it doesn't look like Liara, it just looks like a retard. Waiting patiently for the Tali one - you can't ruin the face there...
another thing is, the paintjob might help, but still, the face is not me gusta.

Ah yes, why I stopped paying attention to most of the crap that comes out of Japan
I was tired of anime and manga by 1983. Haven't bothered w/ it since. While I don't care for it, I have a healthy respect for the form and for those who like anime and manga, Liara does translate well to that style.
While I'd LOVE to have a Liara statue or figure, I just can't go w/ this. She doesn't look like Liara at all. Plus her eyes are too big and her nose is too small.

They got Gentle Giants doing the SWTOR ones, why didn't they just get them for ME too, not dissing Koto because besides their 'stylised' work they also do good more 'lifelike' statuettes too but Gentle Giants do way better imho
Implying that the Darth Malagus figure for CE looks good from what was already released? Really?

Why is it that anime characters always have such HUGE boobs. It's ridiculous! It's like she's pushing them up with her arms...
The west are a million times worse than Japan regarding breasts and butts because unlike in the east with such places as Japan who may draw or animated features... The western women actually implant them day in day out. Pamela Anderson, Katie Price, millions of American women have implants vastly larger than those, many British, French, Canadian etc women and so on also. Kotaku only recently did a article about a young girl with butt and breast addons for silly pageant thing and I'm pretty sure she was western and not Japanese.
My point is pot > kettle > black.
I'm guessing you have never seen Morrinth in game then whos breast are just like ones on that model.

Miranda also not that much different among others.
The hatred of anime/manga and such on BSN is shocking really, so many ignorant people bashing something they know little about based on stereotypes and wanting to be in the [it's cool to bash/belittle Anime club]. Not all anime has huge breasts and in real life women all over world mainly in the west especially America have vastly larger ones than depicted in anime or that model due to the American fascination with body image, implants and surgery.
As for the model it's a style of art, if don't like; don't buy and move on with your life.
There are many people on here who realise it's a [art style] and they are mature enough to state it's just not their cup of tea but have no objection to it (those people have my respect for applying common sense).

That is anime style dont make an excuse for this huge breasts, the others statues of the same company have them more moderate, but they over did it with the Liara one, also it doesnt follow the proportions of the original draw from the artist. Feels like they just messed up.Mr.Kusy wrote...
And as for people who say that big boobs are not a good thing... it's an anime stylised statue, the boobs are exacly the right size for what it is trying to achieve - same with the over the top long legs and the pose. That's just how you make those things - realism is not an option.
And the fact that they sculpt "eyebrows" just show they dont know the character or asari in general at all.

Gah! Awful... just.. awful. Looks nothing like Liara... looks more like the drawing / work of a sexually frustrated teenage boy (I guess that's pretty much all of them?).
I think I'm even more annoyed that Bioware signed off on that as "ok to run with".... sigh, won't they stand up for their own IP and at least try to protect it's integrity at least a little bit?
Bleh.
Then again I'm sure there's plenty of boys drooling at the chin over it, which means it will sell... thus, it's ok to bastardize one of the major lead characters of the series. <_<
