Yes, because then she'd be ruined for others who like her. And that would amuse me greatly.

You are investing too many skill points into schadenfreude.  Your character is not balanced.

An excellent post, Cheez.  I agree.

Exactly.

She had a fat piggy baby face in ME1. They're just doing her justice.

You honestly want a character you already not like made even worse?

Yes, because then she'd be ruined for others who like her. And that would amuse me greatly.

I like her and don't think the statue ruins her, hell I'd kill for her to look exactly like the statue in the game.

So, your logic is flawed.

The point of this style of "art" seems to be to over-exaggerate all the features the "artist" considers sexually exciting, which apparently means giving it the face of a child.
It's more than a little disturbing.

This is coming from the guy who thought the comic book superhero costumes in ME2 were a good idea.

You're a statistical outlier. My logic is sound.

Sadly, Liara was ruined for me in ME2. LotSB didn't really fix much.

And your hatred for her kinda amuses me.

Well to be honest I didn't mind her that much in ME1. After a few rounds of being ninjamanced by her I just left her hiding in her little medical storage room.

It was only after all the whining from Liara fans pre-LOTSB and subsequent Mary Sue-ification that I really became irritated with the character, though her drastic personality change in ME2 certainly fed that quite a bit as well.

Teehee.

Anyway, my only problem with KawaiiDesuLiara is that she's so... typical.  I mean, I like a good anime as much as the next socially isolated shut-in, but seriously?  I can't even roll my eyes anymore.

Hey, is it resin? I could go all way with ChaosBlacking and painting her, and my friend would get himself a Tau titan..
..uh, nevermind, 40K nerd here.

So what with the clothes? Why do they exist? Here I thought that would really be an *anime* figurine.

Superhero costumes?  Good Idea?

First, Good Idea implies I saw what they were going to look lkike before they were released.  I didn't know about the alternate costume packs until earlier this year in June/July when I finished ME2.

But yes, I do like Jack's, Miranda's, and Tali's alternates from those.

Not that all that has anything to do with logic because I wasn't trying to imply that everybody liked them.

Second, why do you describe them as "super hero" cotumes?

The last person that was quoted implied that everyone who actually liked Liara, were opposed to the anime statue/figure.

And I like Liara and I also like the statue/figure, so therefore not everyone that like Liara is opposed to the statue.  And thus, their logic is flawed.

I don't really mind the anime look to the body and face I was pretty much expecting that but why is she using her arms to squeeze her breasts together like a teenage girl trying make practice cleavage in front of a mirror.

^ probably because its a highly subjective opinion on several topics that will cause even more heated debate. Plus having "gender politics" in the title isn't something people want to tread into.

In addition mods sort of frown upon those discussions. (ie. No political discussions, Lockdown!)

I don't think this is "crowdsourcing". They went to some professionals to have a piece of merchandise made. Then they promoted this piece of merchandise by mentioning it on facebook.

Because like many young Asari Maidens, Liara makes a living as an exotic dancer, or "stripper" and she needs to practi....

Wait.. no, she's an archaeologist....

The alternates appearance packs are OK, for the most part. However, many of the stock outfits are quite ridiculous.

I call them super hero costumes, because they emphasize "coolness" over practicality, to the point of outright violating the game's own lore. Space-spandex, tactical heels, exposed forearms, obnoxious boob windows, and the lack of helmets in hazardous environments are just some of the more egregious examples. The only characters who don't suffer from any of these problems are Shepard, Tali, and Legion. Hell, even Garrus' armor needs repairs.

buy the statue and take off the head and rip off the boobs, problem solved!
your perfect Liara is still pure (that is if you didn't fool around with her)

I have to agree that the figurine is kind of unnerving. Not nearly as unnerving as some of the strange emotional gushing over Liara I've seen on these boards, but still unnerving. If he'd have given the figurine a woman's face instead of a second-grader's, BSN leaves it in the dust.
