Those hips are certainly enticing but where do you get a good grip?

There is no way I can answer that question without sounding like a sexual miscreant.

I think anyone with some imagination could answer that but shouldn't.

Ain't nothing wrong with maleshep + Joker.

Ain't nothing wrong with any romance that one sees fit for their LI. I do think an awkward one would be any organic being with Legion or EDI. I wonder if EDI and Legion could have a romantic moment. You know, they could cosplay, Legion could play a heretic and EDI could hack into him, then one thing leads to another (waits for the groans).

For the most part Tali just seems like an idealised woman with the added elements of mystery, purity and exoticism. The feet are insignificant. If they show her face however my perception could regrettably change as, at heart, I'm no xenophile.

What others have said. I have actually got a partially completed run just to romance Garrus. Not because I find him all that sexually attractive, but because he's romantically attractive. He's the person on the crew I like and trust the most, even more than Joker (still haven't entirely gotten over Joker getting me killed, I"m small like that.) Garrus is good follks, and has just the right amount of vulnerability, as well. The only bad thing about romancing Garrus is in the Shadow Broker files, which is to say, that under Shep's shadow he may not fulling develop. He is a hero himself, and as a sidekick/romantic partner for Shep, he's almost wasted.

As for Tali, she's adorable, but I prefer Liara as far as alien females go. Still, the attraction is obvious, and starts at the physical the first time I saw her. I sure as hell did notice her figure.

As has been said, it's fairly easy to see why Tali would be physically attractive: those curves are spectacular, and curves typically equate to femininity. As for the face, the most popular Tali fanart I've seen just makes her look human with either stripes, glowy eyes or slightly different coloured/different textured skin. So most people just see her as a human with an added twist, not much different from an asari. And heck, the shape of her shins just adds to her overall curvaceousness. This counterbalances the 3-fingered hands and the chicken feet. Just like an asari's overall human appearance would counterbalance the blue skin and the tentacle scalp.

Garrus is just anthropomorphised enough to still be appealing: he has the general body shape of a human, with added angularity. Facial features are reminiscent enough of a human (eyes, nose, mouth in similar proportions to a human face, fringe for hair). His personality is a major part of his attractiveness, I'll admit: he's confident yet vulnerable, reliable and loyal yet with a hint of danger, has a sense of humour and is spectacularly efficient. However, had he been a krogan, a volus, an elcor or a hanar with the same personality, I wouldn't have been able to get past his physical appearance, because those species start to go beyond anthropomorphic. Personally, turians are as alien (or non-human) as I'm able to find attractive:

tall + broad shoulders + tapered waist + strong legs + overall predatory air + gravelly, sexy voice = human alpha male

It's simple, really. And just enough to counterbalance the sharp teeth and claws (although those add to the predatory vibe), the hard skin, the mandibles and the odd collar.

This.

I remember watching a Learning Channel program on human sexuality that addressed the biological characteristics of beauty. There was a lot of discussion on the Golden Ratio as it related to both facical structure and body morphology. For example, the closer a woman's hip-to-waist ratio was to the Golden Ratio (i.e. waist being .66 to .75 of hip size), the more attractive she was rated by a sample panel of men.

However, another interesting finding was that if the researchers doctored the images to reflect measurements not physically possible, such as waists approaching .50-.60 hip size, the attractiveness ratings went up instead of down. They did not expect this, because other "attractive" characteristics were linked to features indicative of fertility, and such small waists would be unhealthy, if they could exist at all. Yet, for some reason, men are hardwired to find wide hips and small waists attractive, even beyond the threshold of where they would good for child-bearing.

Given these findings, is it any surprise that men find Tali attractive? All jokes about "dat ass" and "dem hips" aside, she really does represent a body shape men are hardwired to like, regardless of whether or not it is human. Yes, her hands and feet might be off-putting to some, but at a distance, that silhouette is going to be firing up the hormones in your hindbrain long before the rest catches up.

As Nilfalasiel already said, the same goes for Garrus. Here you have all the characteristics of a dominant male exaggerated beyond what you could find in even the most physically fit human. One look at that V-shaped torso will do to the female brain the same thing Tali's hips do to the male brain.

But I think that Legion/EDI romance is much more plausible than Joker/EDI romance, I mean really I don't think the man is THAT into ships.

I think the aliens in ME are not realy intended to be like a different spiecies but rather a foreign culture that you don't fully understand but have to work with anyway as isolationism and elitism is a losers game. I'm not one of the writers, I know, but it feels like that to me. And since people often fall for someone and live happily together after from a culture they never will truly understand in real life it doesn't seem like a impossible scenario in ME.

When it comes to love, looks have little to do with it. That being said, I agree with the OP.

It's been said before, but: people LOVE the monster guy + human girl trope. I'm always surprised when people are shocked by Shepard/Garrus. You see it all the time in literature, pretty much since the dawn of time. Partially for two reasons:

1. Guys like to believe that even if they look hideous, a beautiful girl will still love them based on personality alone.*
2. And similarly, girls like the idea of a guy connecting with them on an emotional level. The monster aspect also equates to being protected.

Now, I say that loving me some Garrus. He's probably the only character I could see my Femshep with. But, it's not exactly a 'new' concept by any means.

[*Not to say that Garrus feels monstrous, or is monstrous. I mean in role in this trope.]

I'd love to see more! Unfortunately, the 'monster girl' in inversions tend to be not as monstrous. Like Ariel, from the Little Mermaid.

wow, i was waiting for someone to bring this up

and before i get people mad at me, this is all in my own opinion, and i am not down grading anyone that has an opinion differant then mine

I'm against Romancing Garrus,
1st he is too good of a friend,
2nd, I do not believe his "love" for femshep is ginuine, to me his feeling for femshep is a great role-model, he took to the romance level just because she is female, and nothing more,
3rd I don 't believe the Human-Turian thing will work, just my opinion, but Turian don't even romotly resemble humans, expect that the have 4 limbs and walk on 2 legs

Now for my dear, Sweet, loveable, but don't get on her bad side, Tali
Tali appels to me on many levels, most i can't name cause i can't descripe
1st off is her personality, she is very kind, sweet generous and devoted to her people and what ever cause she sees, as worth it, and very strong willed
2nd she is not afraid to put her foot down, adding to her already exclent combat skills
3rd, she is beautiful, cute, hot sexy, what ever you want to call it, but she is not snooty about it, something that turned me off to Miranda.

4th if you look how Tali walks, she does not walk like a Chiken, she walks like us, the thing is that the bones in her lower legs are concave, and not strait or parcally convex like ours, one you figure that out , you sould not be totally wirded out, and in reality, 5 fingers is over-engineering on Gods part, 3 fingers are acceptable for most things, both human and Quarians can and should be able to do. Quarians, next to Asari(herp durp), are the most human looking species in the Game

And about Tali's face thing, Bio ward does an excelent job at listening to the people on the Forums, better than any other game producer in my opinion,

All of the Tailmancer have ethier shown or indicated what they want Tali to look like, and i have summited my choice, and most people will trust bioware to do the best job they can, at, if it does happen, one of the most contravershial issiuses in gameing of the decade

I trust the bioware will not dissapiont us

It depends on how you view it. Garrus shows a very high respect for Shepard since ME1. And his admiration exceeds that of any of the squadmates. His loyalty is unquestionable, and he follows Shepard to hell and back.

I would say that is a very good basis for a relationship that develops beyond just friendship.

He shows a lot of care in the romance, and shows genuine heartache if she rejects him. Also, he specifies that it is only Shepard that he would consider with, and that it isn't just a fling.

I like turians because of their voices and there's just something about them that I find physically attractive, I'm not sure what though. They're just appealing.
