I am curious as to how Shep's more subtle reactions to squad members in ME2, may affect in ME3, if at all...If squad friendship, etc... will be affected beyond whether you did their LM and whether you were simply Renegade or Paragon towards them?

An example: My Shep does Miranda's LM, stops her from shooting Niket, encourages her to speak to her sister, gives her the paragon what defines you pep talk...But does not tell her he trusts her or that his glad she is onboard....His take, he doesn't trust Miranda or want her onboard the Normandy, but as a fellow soul, he will help her find and define herself....he does care how she see's herself....So anyway a bit of a mixed paragade dialog with her.

NO, this is not a lets bash Miranda thread....please desist from bashing her...the above is a squad intereaction example only.

Does anyone else wonder if paragade/renegon dialogs will affect squad reactions to Shep in ME3?

I think loyalty mission results will probably dictate how they interact with you. For example, a Jack who executed Aresh will probably be more like old Jack, whereas a Jack who spared Aresh will probably be a little more mature and discretionary.

I think having every dialogue option shape their interactivity is a little beyond the scope of the developers.

I sincerely doubt it.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if our minor decisions on most LMs had little to no impact.   Things like killing the Thresher Maw, killing/sparing Aresh, killing/sparing Maelon, killing/sparing Niket, what to do with Jacobs father, will all likely end up changing at most one line of dialogue and/or causing an email.   I mean look at the difference killing or sparing Aresh makes in ME2: One different line of dialogue from Jack and otherwise the result is identical.   Do you really think they will bother to create two different personalities for Jack in ME3?   Unless she is just a cameo appearance with a couple lines a la Shiala (who has two different attitudes depending on what happened on Feros) I don't see it happening.

The dialog system should be more complex and have more consequences than just clicking the blue or red text and getting an e-mail.

It would be cool if it did, and I'm hoping that Bioware will fulfill their promises of differences depending upon prior decisions (namely decisions over what to do with the Rachni Queen, Collector Base, Heretic Base, etc.)  However I suspect that if it was economical to change how characters reacted to Shepard over "minor" things (at least major characters) then Bioware already would have done so.  I'm betting that if Shepard got a characters loyalty, any other differences between play-throughs (with said characters in ME3) will be largely superficial.  Look at how much convincing Garrus to become more renegade/paragon in ME1 did:  A slight change in background (tried to make it as a Spectre or get back with C-Sec) before he ends up at the same destination regardless.

*edit - Come to think of it, some of the characters such as Samara or Grunt will probably just be around for a mission or two.  Their relationship with Shepard could probably be quite a bit different depending on things from ME2 as changes to them won't require the plot to alter itself much if at all.

maybe they could do a sort of weighted thing, where they assign point values to your interactions with her: +1 for paragon, 0 for neutral, -1 for renegade. they add those points up to decide which conversation category you are in with her: friend, professional, rival. then they could develop additional conversation trees/options along those lines. so if you were nice enough to have in her in category Friend, then you have those dialogue options. Making her a LI of course adds more options still. and the big plot moments with her - loyalty and skirmish with Jack - would layer in.

The regular information papers also hold news, connected on the game of golf (TaylorMade R11 Irons). well-known golf tournaments along with the champion winners, even have the privilege of appearing inside top pages.

It's the paragon/renegade points that actually got me wondering if the ME2 dialog would change things at all in ME3, as my Shep did manage to conjure a few renegade points in his responses to her....not telling Miranda "the best thing the Illusive Man did was put you on my squad" illicites some renegade points.
