I am going to play a DPS mage and take Shapeshifting as my first specialization.
I cannot take Blood Mage for RP reasons, which leaves me with Spirit Healer or Arcane Warrior.

The case for Spirit Healer is that even though I don't see myself healing often,  +2 Magic, and group heal for only 1 point seems like a heck of a deal.

The case for Arcane Warrior is that even though I have no plans to melee, a nice steel shell will allow me to unload massive damage with less concern over any aggro(threat) I get from mobs.

Which do you think will be better?

My party will be Alistair, Leliana, and Wynne.

I would pick Arcane Warrior due to the fact that Wynne can cover the Spirit Healer aspect, so doubling up on it could be potentially wasteful. Arcane Warrior should provide the highest potential for raw DPS.

I might take Spirit Healer, though I really woudn't mind taking Wynne along, from the vids she seems like the kind of party member I enjoy playing with.



But if I'm skiping Spirit Healer I probably won't specialize at all and just focus on getting a few more tier 4 spells. There are some really nice options in there and I can think of a few nice combos.
