Hi guys, i noticed that on my W7 Installation of nwn, the Saves directory is completely empty. The strange thing is that in-game i can save or load whatever i want.

Two days ago i wanted to copy my saves to another machine but i couldn't, beacuse i can't find them.
I tried everywhere, ProgramData, Appdata etc. etc.
I tried moving "Saves" directory on desktop, but savegames are still there in-game.

Is there maybe another dir where i can find these very important files?

Thanks in advance.

Have been thinking about this since you mentioned it in the other thread. Is NWN installed directly to C drive? Or is it installed in programs(x86)? Installing in programs is not a good idea and might be why the game data is not where it should be.

The other thing you could do is go to the main nwn folder and open NWN.ini with notepad. At the bottom it should list the path for all folders.

Good luck :)

So thank you for the fast answer. The game is installed in Programs(x86) and a very strange thing happen in the nwn.ini file.

This is the content:

[Alias]
HD0=.\\
CD0=K:\\
OVERRIDE=.\\override
TEMP=.\\temp
MODULES=.\\modules
LOGS=.\\logs
LOCALVAULT=.\\localvault
DMVAULT=.\\dmvault
SERVERVAULT=.\\servervault
TEMPCLIENT=.\\tempclient
SAVES=.\\saves
CURRENTGAME=.\\currentgame
HAK=.\\hak
PATCH=.\\patch
NWMFiles=.\\nwm
AMBIENT=.\\ambient
MOVIES=.\\movies
MUSIC=.\\music
[Sound Options]
Music Volume=0.75
Voice Volume=0.75
SoundFX Volume=0.75

Reinstall directly off the C: drive (or whatever drive you are using it on).  The path should look something like this:
C:\\NeverwinterNights\\NWN\\saves

The easiest way to figure out where your saves have been stored is to do a file search using the name of the save.  That will tell you.

Already tried searching for them using Windows Search but i recive no results. I found a program to find hidden files but i think it would be useless in any case.

Problem solved. If anyone need this info the file was located in

C:\\Users\\Username\\AppData\\Local\\VirtualStore\\Program Files (x86)\\BioWare Corp\\Neverwinter Nights\\saves

Glad you found it *smiling*

I would still reinstall directly onto C drive tp avoid future issues.

Have fun :)
