Why is there SUCH a constant problem with installing DLCs in this game? Each and every single time I install or reinstall Dragon Age I have to jump through seemingly a thousand hoops just to reacquire the DLC content I paid for in 2009. 

I've found this thread to help people (http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613) but just the fact that a thread like this is even necessary is ridiculous. 

This is an extremely frustrating issue. I love Dragon Age itself but this problem with DLC authorizations is incessant and never gets fixed. When I first got Awakenings a year ago I had to troubleshoot just to get it to work. When I reinstalled Dragon Age in the spring I had to do it again when all my DLCs disappeared. Now after reinstalling Steam for other reasons I'm on these forums doing it again because my DLC disappeared. 

Back in the day it was less of an issue, but I'm older now and have more things to do. It's a question of valuing time, I'd like to play Dragon Age but I can't reload my old save without the DLC, and I frankly just don't have the motivation to go through another round of troubleshooting when I can play anything else on my Steam list. 

Is there some reason this problem has never been fixed in all the time I've been playing Dragon Age?

You seem to have skipped right past the threads pinned to the top of this forum. There is a different, far more complete, DLC troubleshooting FAQ, a solutions round-up thread linking solutions to most of the known technical issues with solutions and a thread about the public beta of the 1.05 patch which resolves all DLC authorization issues.

You are in a peer support forum. If you would like assistance with your problem, please check the solutions round-up thread first to see if you can resolve the issue and if you need further help see the read first thread also pinned to the top of this forum. If you want to complain to BW/EA, this isn't the place to do it. We are just fellow gamers who are more than happy to help you get your game running properly. Even the moderators are volunteers. Official support is linked at the bottom of every forum page if you want to complain to EA directly.

I didn't skip past them, I read them and fixed the issue I was having (although now I'm having an entirely different one brought on by who knows what reason).

I recognize that this is a peer support forum, and thanks for pointing out where I can lodge an official complaint because honestly I'm just plain tired of troubleshooting Dragon Age for two years every time I've wanted to play it, though now I've decided that I'm just not going to. I really do enjoy the game but I don't have the time to go through all this just to play it. I'm not blaming you or anything, it's great you and the other mods have an entire... infrastructure set up here to help people play this game, but it really is ridiculous any of this is even necessary.
