Ok I've just completed Horizon, for a Pure Renegade playthrough and one of the lines when examining a dead Husk is that Shepard says that they are "more advanced, more evolved"

Infact they seem less advanced compared to their Geth counterparts, the Geths had those electrical blast attacks and, kinetic barriers. While the Collector version just had Health (and Armor if Hardcore or Insanity) and a melee attack.

Was Shepard wrong in this case?

No,because these husks could be used to make scions and praetorians. But of course shepardt could not have known that at this moment....

Depends on how much weapons technology has advanced in two years. Could be ME1 weapons wouldn't do much damage to ME2 Husks. And I think that Shepard just says that they look more advanced.

Good point actually, I wondered about that myself. There doesn't seem to be any difference physically, but if you pay attention to them in combat, one will rush you from the front and others will go around and try and surround you. In ME1 they didn't always do that.

And then there's the whole combining thing. Scions and Praetorians are technically Husks, they're just different versions that use more than one body to make them whole.

i took it to mean that they were really obviously different from geth husks, that the geth husks being made on the field would've been alot cruder and that these were more refined, more purposefully made than the geth husks. as for difficulty they're way harder, on insanity they are the only enemy i have problems with, even harder than krogan.

Yeah, on Insanity a group of husks is a very tough problem. Bringing a lot of Warp/Incinerate squadmates, or Jacob and Grunt (both evolved to Inferno Ammo) helps, but otherwise they are still a huge threat.
