We all know that there will end up being a third item pack. Bioware loves money, and items are a hell of a lot easier to make than entirely new quests like Legacy. What I propose is that we create our own example item pack to show Bioware what we would like since the last item pack was widely regarded as quite lackluster (according to the comments anyway).

*In the second post I'll put the list of items that people seem to like*

One of the biggest draws I think will be the ability to build around these items. In the cases of Warrior and Rogue, elemental weapons come to mind, but that's not the only way to go about this. For eample you could create a rogue DW weapon that does more damage than usual, but requires some strength to use.

Here are some of my generic thoughts on the items that should be in the pack:

- Weapons need at least one rune slot
- Could have a locked accessory for Hawke (similar to companion items)
- Could have non-leveling weapons, say 2 weapons, set at level 12 and level 24 or something
- Could make some cross-class items: perhaps a sword and shield that can be used by a mage if interested, but removed the ability to cast offensive spells. Would also require strength to wield.
- I would suggest against making leveling armor, it seems like it would make any other armor useless.
- Staff: NOT FIRE, maybe cold or nature since they don't have a DLC item yet. Or physical :P
- Locked items for mage companions could be staves as well
- Rogue Weapons: suggest Electric or Cold since rogues don't have anything of those elements
- 1H: Not spirit, maybe make it cold since that's the only 1H element missing. make it a mace, since there are no good maces in DA2

I disagree at having a level 24 anything. A lot of people won't get that high in a playthrough. 17 is a good highest level, or 20 at the most.

For the next item pack they really need to make each armour different rather than doubling up. #1 request. Otherwise,

MAGE: A staff in the design of Parlathan or other simpler staff. A lightning staff would be nice. And I know everyone loathes robes, but one set of dress-type robes would be nice. Just one!

ROGUE: Smaller knives that don't overlap at the back. Something with a neat curve at the end, that looks wickedly dangerous and not enormous.

WARRIOR: A two-handed sword that levels up, in a simpler style (not Empress' Point overlarge style.)

I feel like they won't put a rune slot on a staff unless the modifiers are significantly weaker. A strong staff with a PLR would be dangerously close to outpacing DPS from actual spell casting, and I think they would want to avoid that.

To get an idea of how strong level 24 is, The Final Thought is item level 24. I don't think that is too outrageously high, and is attainable by anyone. It would give people something to shoot for at least. The game curerntly does not reward leveling very much.

The cross class items sound sick, but I'd be surprised if we'll see anything like that.

No physical on staves please! LOL. I don't think we'll see a staff that already has a high cost version in the game. It would essentially be giving you a free 100g+ to have a Cold or Nature staff. Still doesn't hurt to include.

There already is a shield that levels with you. Does it make all other shields useless? I don't know.

Other elements for Rogues and Warriors would be excellent. A bow of any element besides fire would be awesome. Hopefully electricity so it would go well with the Ring of the Ferryman.

I'd like new rogue daggers that are actually daggers and not cleavers or axes. How do you backstab something with a weapon that has blunt ends?

Whatever they add, I just hope the armor at least looks decent. With all of the item pack armor options to choose from, I prefer the champion or Regalia of Weissaupt armors for appearance (not including stats). The ugliest armor pieces in the game all seem to come from the item packs, which we pay separately for.

-One evolving accessory per class for Hawke.

Mage:
- Electricity staff. There is only one unique elctricity staff in the game and it gets underpowered pretty quick.

Warrior:
- 1H: Cold based weapon.
- 2H: Nature or fire based weapon. Personally, I would prefer a nature based greatsword.

Rogue:
- Daggers: Cold or electricity based set of daggers. Personally, I would prefer cold.
- Bow: Another fire based bow. /trollface Seriously though, anything BUT another fire or physical based bow would be awesome. Personaly, I would prefer a nature or spirit bow. I know there is a spirit bow available in act1, but it gets obsolote pretty quick, and not all of us recruited Warevolves in Origins. :P

I also support what Darchon said about rune slots. Please include at least one runs slot for every weapon, so we can slap the Primeval rune on it and be all godlike.

I don't have any good ideas for armors at the moment. I will post, if I come up with one.

Needless to say, I was extremly disappointed with the last item pack. Especially with another 1H spirit axe, this time with +physical damage modifier lol, another physical bow and another fire staff.
New armors were mostly slightly better versions of what is already available in the game, although some of the art designs were really nice. But not nice enough to justify the re-used art assets for both sets of armor.
No complaints about the new companion accessories. It seems that the most thought and consideration went into creating accessories, because the stats are mostly in place and not just duplicates from the previous pack.
Overall, the new pack was extremly disappointing and it didn't give me the incentive to start a new playthrough. And I'm having way too much fun with Deus Ex to be bothered with DA2 at the moment, so it 's all good I guess. lol

The only thing I would like to see is they add these items in the course of gameplay, rather right from a chest in your home. Put them in act 1 somewhere, at least something that's just not as mundane as a gift box.

You have a point there.

About a physical staff: consider this example (high level stats):

Staff of Blades  (make the staff look like swords and daggers welded together)
50 Physical Damage
+20% Physical Damage
+0.25 Blood Mage conversion
Attacks ignore enemy armor
1 Rune Slot

It would clearly never beat a staff of the correct element, but a primal-arcane-blood mage could be built to take advantage of the bonuses. I could see some awesome damage numbers from staggers. At the very least, it's something to build around. And maybe if a blood mage set of armor comes in the item pack too. It would be nice to have conversion stats, but also some other decent stats, which is lacking in the game right now aside from cold blooded.

The trick about making a cold or nature stave is to not give it +30% of said element. It will end up being the second strongest stave for that element, but then again, you don't have to spend 150g to buy it.

I also realize that cross-class weapons would never happen, but they should!

I would also go for an electric bow. Although, I wonder if the reason we don't have one is due to the electric damage property of putting en enemy into stun. Bows frequently do 1000 damage by end game, that would be a forceful stun on anyone.
I'd actually prefer to see a Nature bow. It can be rationalized via poisoned arrows or something. Stats like so:

Assassin's Choice
160 Nature Damage
2 Rune Slots
33% chance to reduce attack speed
33% chance to reduce movement speed
+33% Critical Damage

Yes, but it's useless just about as soon as you've finished the DLC.

That's an interesting idea. Little side quests to pick up relics rather than just discovering them in your house. Hmm...

Looks pretty good actually. It's a neat idea.

Worth quoting another time. Come on, the inventory is not big enough to pick up half the items if you have more dlcs, haha.

Item stats - I'd like to see more interesting effects, similar to those Glendivalis and the Staff of violation have.

Item looks - something more elegant and less bulky/sharp cornered.

Next item pack I want:

A toolset.

(What? I'm serious.)
