I am little bit confused about how the additional clerical spells with a stormlord work.  I'm planning to be a Bard/Favoured soul and then get Stormlord prc.  Im planing to get about 8 or 7 lvls of FS (favoured soul).  When I get the stormlord prestige class does that mean I will continue being able to caste cleric spells as if I was continuing from FS lvl 8 or will it enable me to caste spells as if I was lvl 16 (ie Bard 8/ Favoured Soul 8)?

It will progress your divine spellcasting (FS in this case). So, a FS 8/SL 10 casts and gains new spell levels as a level 18 FS.

By the way what exactly is cold iron resistance and alchemical silver resistance for FS? Does that mean I get specific damage resistance made out of that type? Seems a little pointless if my character isn't a fey or a demon.

X/Cold iron resistance means that you'll have damage reduction against every weapon material except cold iron. Same for alchemical silver.
